The "Water Russian" and Other Paradigms of the Higher School of Economics
Cadres decide everything
The reason for the next portion of attention to the National Research Institute "Higher School of Economics" was the statements of Dr. Gasan Huseynov about the Russian language. In one of the social networks banned in Russia, a professor of the Faculty of Humanities called the Russian "poor cesspool." Such are the associations of another representative of the intelligentsia caused by Russian speech. If we delve into the context of the statement, then Huseynov's dissatisfaction was caused by the lack of periodical literature in the languages of the peoples living in Russia on the shelves of bookstores. Actually, in this regard, the great and mighty turned out to be “cesspool”.
Huseynov, as a true representative of the frightened intelligentsia, began to make excuses, which caused even greater contempt of the condemning public. It should be noted that the HSE administration reacted promptly - Huseynov, in correspondence with a student, admitted that since September 1 he no longer works at the “tower” (Higher School of Economics). The sad anecdote of the situation is that the professor taught a course in rhetoric at the university. Indeed, the future graduates of the elite educational institution had a lot to learn from the connoisseur of the Russian language Huseynov.
This is far from the professor's first "hijack", after which he should have been fired from the HSE much earlier. A couple of years ago, a teacher commented on the position of the American writer Susan Zongat with the expression "she said everything correctly." Everything seems to be innocent, if you do not know the position that Huseynov approved - the assessment of the hostage-taking at Dubrovka as "the national liberation struggle of the Chechen people." Then the scandalous professor was not expelled, but the HSE released a report “Terrorism: the inadmissibility of justification”, which, probably, raised Huseynov’s self-esteem even more. And now the teacher has grown to the “cloacal Russian language”.
But, perhaps, the disgraced professor is the only one of his kind in the "tower"? Does this exception only confirm the rule that the HSE faculty is truly focused on Russia, and not on foreign grants? But no, there are still a lot of Huseynovs within the walls of the educational institution. This generally smacks of consistency and purposeful policy of the administration of the university.
Meet Ms. Maya Kucherskaya, professor at the Faculty of Philology, who teaches, in particular, the course “Russian Literature of the Second Half of the XNUMXth Century”. The track record includes studies at Moscow State University and the University of California and two Ph.D. dissertations at once. Now this portfolio is being supplemented by the "old man's petrified feces" and "pathetic dregs", which Kucherskaya called Russian literature. Probably, a person who is regularly invited to give lectures at the Yeltsin Center could not express herself differently. The position, so to speak, obliges.
There are more disgusting cases among HSE teachers. Candidate historical Sciences, Associate Professor Alexei Rakov in the spring of last year during the next exacerbation was detained for "acts of a sexual nature against minors." According to investigators, the individual actively shared his own anatomical features with children via instant messengers.
These, to put it mildly, incidents became possible after the procedure of "extraction" of several ultra-liberals from the teaching community, which took place a couple of years ago. Cleaned up several structural divisions, in particular, the School of Philosophy. As you can see, the filth has not yet been taken out. But for those with whom, for various reasons, contracts were not renewed, things are going very well - they did not waste time in vain.
In 2020, the Free University appeared, founded by former teachers of the School of Philosophy Viktor and Yulia Gorbatov, Kirill Martynov, and Professor of the HSE Faculty of Law Elena Lukyanova. The latter is now a member of the Anti-War Committee of Russia and lives in Latvia. And the Free University works quite well for itself, issuing statements in which it welcomes British universities that "terminated contracts with Russian institutions, but continue to cooperate with individual scientists." And further down the line:
By the way, Gasan Huseynov is among the members of the "Presiding Board" of this office. Hatred of the Russian "cesspool" language and state policy go hand in hand.
Cradle of the State Reserve
Why such close attention to the Higher School of Economics? Does the intellectual elite have few traitors, besides the teachers of the "tower"? The fact is that the educational institution is directly related to the state policy of the Russian Federation.
The first point is that professors and associate professors of the school conduct a painstaking study of reality in the country and issue recommendations to the government. It is the HSE that we owe our entry into the Bologna system of higher education, the Unified State Examination (USE) and the notorious competency-based approach to education. The postulates of the latter recommend not teaching children fundamental knowledge, but only the skills of self-presentation and teamwork. Those who are interested can get acquainted with the concept of 4K. It was the Higher School of Economics that justified the need to flood Russia with foreign workers as the most important factor in the development of countries.
Justified and convinced responsible people. "Tower" plays a big role in shaping the mood in the highest echelons of power, primarily in its most liberal part. According to the list of scientific journals published under the auspices of the HSE, we can say that university scientists are interested in literally everything - business, international relations, government, education, demography, society, psychoanalysis, and much, much more.
The second point is that training in the "tower" is elitist, and the best minds really strive there. Among the graduates there are many officials, some reach really high positions. For example, presidential aide Maxim Oreshkin and Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov. But there are also completely odious personalities - Roman Dobrokhotov, founder of the foreign media agent The Insider, and Ivan Safronov, who is accused of espionage. To what extent can it be argued that the consciousness of the last two was deformed even before the HSE, or did teachers like Huseynov and Lukyanova help? The question is rhetorical.
The HSE is, perhaps, one of the most integrated universities in Russia into the western space. From the very beginning, he actively used grant support from abroad, including from the Soros Foundation, and now two-thirds of the teachers are actively published in the West. The storm that the foreign academic world brought about Russian science and education turned out to be extremely painful for many people.
For example, for Huseynov, who, before working at the Higher School of Economics, managed to ride around Europe and soak up the anti-Russian spirit. And that's just what we see on the surface. Does such activity pose a threat to national security? Second rhetorical question.
To finish the glorious history of "successes and achievements" is the words of the candidate of philosophical sciences, political scientist Oleg Matveychev, professor of that very "tower". The expression is dated March 2020 and does not refer to the activities of colleagues in the shop, but, for the sake of such a case, we will shamelessly pull it out of context. The words are addressed to the "liberal bastard":
More precisely and you will not tell.
