The Pentagon ruled out the transfer of F-16 fighters to Ukraine in the near future
Ukraine will have to be content with the remnants of its Air Force and continue to beg for Soviet-style aircraft, since the Pentagon has ruled out the transfer of F-16 fighters to Kyiv in the short term. This was stated by the deputy head of the US military Colin Kahl.
The United States is focused on delivering to Ukraine those weapons that will be appropriate in the current situation, and fighter jets are not included in this list. According to a Pentagon spokesman, the US military has not even made a final analysis of the possible transfer of aircraft, so Kyiv will definitely not receive them in the near future. At the same time, the United States does not exclude that they will return to this issue later.

Meanwhile, in Kyiv, the possible transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine is already being presented as a fait accompli. Some "experts" even opine that the F-16s should be abandoned and the US should be asked for the F-15s, as they carry more weapons. Like, it’s better to fight Russian fighters on them.
Previously the same story happened to the American A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft, better known as the Warthog ("Warthog"). Before the United States had time to just assume that someday, in the future, these planes might be handed over to Kyiv, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has already stated that they do not need A-10s, it would be better if they immediately give F-16s.
