Fanil Ziyatdinov: "Our special equipment demonstrates high efficiency, it is in demand"
This summer, a big event took place for the industrial Izhevsk, the capital of the Republic of Udmurtia - the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant "Kupol" celebrated its 65th anniversary.
From the first years of operation of the defense enterprise to the present day, specialists from the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant "Kupol" have demonstrated the high quality of military equipment produced. Today, the expansion of the civilian products segment is becoming especially relevant.
IEMZ "Kupol", which is part of the Concern VKO "Almaz-Antey", annually participates in major international forums and exhibitions.
Of course, "Kupol" is known in the world, first of all, as a manufacturer of anti-aircraft missile systems of the "Tor" and "Osa" families. However, the range of military products is constantly expanding, even in today's difficult economic conditions.
“The recession in the global economy and sanctions have made 2022 a challenging year for everyone. But in the face of objective difficulties, our plant showed strength of character. It was possible to maintain the high production and social indicators that Kupol achieved in the period from 2017 to 2021. And this is an increase in production volumes by more than 1,5 times, and a comparable dynamics of wages, and the effectiveness of the work of our design school, which in five years created products that have no analogues: the Arctic Tor, the Adjutant complex, military vehicles "Typhoon-Air Defense", - said Fanil Ziyatdinov, General Director of IEMZ "Kupol", summing up the work of his team.
According to the head of the plant, in 2022 the load on Kupol specialists has seriously increased. First of all, due to the growth in the volume of orders in the context of changing cooperation and logistics chains, intensive import substitution and the need to reduce costs.
“According to the results of the first half of the year, Kupol increased its production volume. Our special equipment demonstrates high efficiency, it is in demand. In parallel with the release of serial production, relying on extensive experience in the production of anti-aircraft missile systems, and the growing capabilities of its own scientific school, "Kupol" began to create a new anti-aircraft missile system in the interests of the Naval fleet", - said Fanil Ziyatdinov.
The team of "Kupola" shows good progress in the field of civilian production. According to the General Director, today Kupol is implementing 18 projects in this area - for example, the production of equipment for nuclear power plants.
Kupol is successfully modernizing and repairing machine tools with numerical control, and is also ready to start mass production of a number of import-substituting ventilation elements in the interests of the civil and military fleet.
“The growth of production volumes is the best groundwork for improving the well-being of the team. We keep all social programs, for the current year we planned to increase the average salary by 9%. This is higher than in previous periods, but not enough. One of the tasks that I set for the management team for 2022 and 2023 is to develop and implement mechanisms that allow us to convert the growth in volumes into an increase in the salary of the entire team with a growth rate of up to 15%, that is, ahead of inflation,” added Fanil Ziyatdinov.
