Silence of Greta Thunberg: Against the backdrop of rising energy prices, Europe hardly remembers the "green agenda"
Joe Biden's trip to Saudi Arabia at the moment has not produced the result that Biden himself was counting on. Oil, having fallen slightly below $100, has won back this fall in recent days, having again gone above the bar of $105 per barrel (Brent).
At the same time, the situation on the world energy market is such that prices are rising for literally all energy carriers without exception. And this despite the fact that not all industries have “recovered” after the pandemic.
Oil, gas, coal are getting more expensive, respectively, electricity is growing.
The Europeans planned to significantly save on energy consumption in the summer, but that was not the case. 40-degree heat covered several European countries. Under the scorching sun was even Great Britain, where such temperatures are generally nonsense.
So far, Europeans have not been able to accumulate sufficient volumes of gas in underground storage facilities. Apparently, some officials believed that gas and oil were only for heating houses and driving cars. It turned out that oil and gas is still the work of power plants, at least in order to maintain the operation of refrigerators and air conditioners. Not to mention industry.
In such a situation, an avalanche-like shortage of energy carriers, fuel as such, may arise. Note that there is no longer any Greta Thunberg even on the horizon, complete silence. Almost no one talks about the “green agenda” in Europe. One gets the impression that the first person to say this will simply be beaten ...
