For Syria, the name of this month is also of great importance. In Arabic, October - Tishrin. This name is called parks, hospitals, squares .. For us, the name "October" is associated with the Great October Socialist Revolution, and for the Syrians - with the October Liberation War of 1973.
A few years before her, in the tragic 1967 year, the Arabs lost many of their lands. Syria among them. The Israeli military, with the support of US capital, has taken a lot from the peoples of the Middle East, shed much blood, and made many people refugees.
But in 1973, Syria was able to regain part of the territories occupied by Zionists - the city of Quneitra and Mount Hermon.
The Syrian army conducted several brilliant operations. Syrian President Hafez Al-Assad personally participated in the fighting. Syrians shot down dozens of Israeli aircraft - many pilots then showed miracles of heroism.
Perhaps Syria would have been able to regain the long-suffering Golan, but Israel came to the aid of the West. The Syrian army took the hardest blows and was forced to retreat. The Zionists declared a "march on Damascus", but it was stopped by the heroes of Syria. As a result of the war, Kuneitra and the summit of Hermon remained behind Syria. Every year October 6 celebrates the holiday - the Day of the October Liberation War.
And today, on the 39 anniversary of that war, when Syria faced new threats, this did not prevent the celebration of a national holiday.
On the streets and avenues of Damascus hung a lot of new flags - the Syrian and the party of the Arab socialist revival. Bright and fresh, they look victorious against the background of a cloudless sky, on which there is still no sign of the coming autumn ...
President Bashar al-Assad on Victory Day laid a wreath at the memorial to the fallen heroes on Mount Kasyun. The tomb of the Unknown Soldier is located there and the eternal flame burns ... Just like in Red Square ...
The ceremony was attended by Syrian Defense Minister Fahed Al-Freydzh, Chief of General Staff Ali Ayub, public and political figures, as well as children from a boarding school for children of the deceased heroes, who were handed flowers to the president.

On this day, the Minister of Defense Al-Freige spoke on television and said that today the Syrian army is leading and will continue to fight in defense of the Fatherland and its citizens. But this is not only the Syrian battle, by and large this is a battle for all mankind - now the country is fighting for justice and the protection of international law, according to which the sovereignty of all states should be respected.
The Minister of Defense compared these days with the days of that war. The army again shows the wonders of self-sacrifice, again defends independence and dignity.
“The attack that our proud Motherland has been subjected to and suffered for dozens of years is revenge for its patriotic position,” said the Minister of Defense and expressed hope that in the current situation in Syria, a new multipolar world system is being born, the framework of which the independence of all countries will be respected and interference in their internal affairs will be prohibited.
Congratulating the soldiers and the people on the holiday, the Minister said that the Motherland would accept all its sons with wide arms, even those who were deceived and now want to return to normal life. But there is no future for those who continue to direct. weapon against their homeland.
The Minister of Defense also congratulated media workers on the holiday and noted that they adequately fulfill their duty in resisting information attacks on Syria. Journalists work side by side with army soldiers and sometimes take risks along with them.
As for the journalists, it was on this day that they opened a new TV channel called “Talyaki” and a new radio station “Syrian FM”.
At the opening ceremony of these new Syrian media, Prime Minister Vail Al-Khalki spoke. He stressed that these new media will also expose lies and slander against Syria and become free information platforms for all patriotic forces of the country.
He stressed that the name of the channel "Talyaki", which in Arabic means "rapprochement", is very symbolic. After all, it is precisely towards the rapprochement of the people, towards consolidation that we must strive in this difficult situation for the country.
The Prime Minister of Syria recalled the journalists who fell for the truth at the hands of mercenaries, and paid tribute to those who paid with their lives for doing their duty to the end.

The holiday gained a special scope in the liberated Quneitra. There was a ceremony honoring the families of the fallen and a festival of culture, which was attended by writers and poets. It is characteristic that there are no “oppositionists” -terrorists right on the ground of Kuneitra. Residents of this city know what occupation is and do not want a repetition. They understand what the so-called “freedom” is leading to - it has already inflicted grave wounds on this city, even in those times ...
The Day of the October Liberation War was also celebrated abroad. Actions of solidarity with Syria, dedicated to this glorious anniversary, were held in France, Australia, India, Jordan. Russia did not stand aside, where representatives of the Anti-Globalization Movement and the Committee of Solidarity with the People of Syria held a solemn evening in honor of the Liberation War and took part in the opening ceremony of the Syrian Information Center in Moscow. Yes, Syria has opened the first such center abroad, whose task will be to help in information confrontation.
All Syrians, both in the country and abroad, piously honor their heroic history. And only a handful of renegades, scumbags, for whom there is nothing sacred, make terrible atrocities even in such a holy day for the people.

Villains paid for their crime. Law enforcement agencies worked professionally and conducted a special operation against the gunners, during which the attackers suffered a well-deserved punishment. Most of those thugs eliminated, their weapons were withdrawn.

After 39 years after a glorious, heroic day in history, Syria is facing a thunderous present. But the sun of the new victory will shine over her! And I dare to hope that the 40 anniversary of the October War of Liberation will pass in a completely different situation - against the background of the new Victory! The country will once again manage to overcome all the difficulties, overcome the terrible conspiracy unleashed against it, get out of the current situation even more. And in that coming day, not a single terrorist act will happen!
