Syria: a heroic past and a stormy present

71
Syria: a heroic past and a stormy presentTruly, there is a lot in common between Russia and Syria. For example, recently in our country many cinemas, houses of culture, streets bore the name "October". For Syria, the name of this month is also of great importance. In Arabic, October - Tishrin. This name is called parks, hospitals, squares ..

For us, the name "October" is associated with the Great October Socialist Revolution, and for the Syrians - with the October Liberation War of 1973.

A few years before her, in the tragic 1967 year, the Arabs lost many of their lands. Syria among them. The Israeli military, with the support of US capital, has taken a lot from the peoples of the Middle East, shed much blood, and made many people refugees.

But in 1973, Syria was able to regain part of the territories occupied by Zionists - the city of Quneitra and Mount Hermon.

The Syrian army conducted several brilliant operations. Syrian President Hafez Al-Assad personally participated in the fighting. Syrians shot down dozens of Israeli aircraft - many pilots then showed miracles of heroism.

Perhaps Syria would have been able to regain the long-suffering Golan, but Israel came to the aid of the West. The Syrian army took the hardest blows and was forced to retreat. The Zionists declared a "march on Damascus", but it was stopped by the heroes of Syria. As a result of the war, Kuneitra and the summit of Hermon remained behind Syria. It was possible to free the territory of 633 square from the invaders. kilometers

About this war, in which the Syrians have debunked the myth of the invincibility of the Israeli army, many pictures have been written, many movies have been made, monuments have been erected to its heroes, one of the most significant ones is the October Liberation War Panorama. And so in Syria there are so many names associated with October. Just like in the USSR.

Every year October 6 celebrates the holiday - the Day of the October Liberation War.

And today, on the 39 anniversary of that war, when Syria faced new threats, this did not prevent the celebration of a national holiday.

On the streets and avenues of Damascus hung a lot of new flags - the Syrian and the party of the Arab socialist revival. Bright and fresh, they look victorious against the background of a cloudless sky, on which there is still no sign of the coming autumn ...

President Bashar al-Assad on Victory Day laid a wreath at the memorial to the fallen heroes on Mount Kasyun. The tomb of the Unknown Soldier is located there and the eternal flame burns ... Just like in Red Square ...

The ceremony was attended by Syrian Defense Minister Fahed Al-Freydzh, Chief of General Staff Ali Ayub, public and political figures, as well as children from a boarding school for children of the deceased heroes, who were handed flowers to the president.

I watched footage from this ceremony. On one of them, a girl with a white bow in her hair put her hand so trustingly on the president’s shoulder ... And I thought - this is what the “world community” declares him “dictator” and “villain” - but you can't fool the children! Syrians-you can not fool! They know their president better!

On this day, the Minister of Defense Al-Freige spoke on television and said that today the Syrian army is leading and will continue to fight in defense of the Fatherland and its citizens. But this is not only the Syrian battle, by and large this is a battle for all mankind - now the country is fighting for justice and the protection of international law, according to which the sovereignty of all states should be respected.

The Minister of Defense compared these days with the days of that war. The army again shows the wonders of self-sacrifice, again defends independence and dignity.
“The attack that our proud Motherland has been subjected to and suffered for dozens of years is revenge for its patriotic position,” said the Minister of Defense and expressed hope that in the current situation in Syria, a new multipolar world system is being born, the framework of which the independence of all countries will be respected and interference in their internal affairs will be prohibited.

Congratulating the soldiers and the people on the holiday, the Minister said that the Motherland would accept all its sons with wide arms, even those who were deceived and now want to return to normal life. But there is no future for those who continue to direct. weapon against their homeland.

The Minister of Defense also congratulated media workers on the holiday and noted that they adequately fulfill their duty in resisting information attacks on Syria. Journalists work side by side with army soldiers and sometimes take risks along with them.

As for the journalists, it was on this day that they opened a new TV channel called “Talyaki” and a new radio station “Syrian FM”.
At the opening ceremony of these new Syrian media, Prime Minister Vail Al-Khalki spoke. He stressed that these new media will also expose lies and slander against Syria and become free information platforms for all patriotic forces of the country.

He stressed that the name of the channel "Talyaki", which in Arabic means "rapprochement", is very symbolic. After all, it is precisely towards the rapprochement of the people, towards consolidation that we must strive in this difficult situation for the country.

The Prime Minister of Syria recalled the journalists who fell for the truth at the hands of mercenaries, and paid tribute to those who paid with their lives for doing their duty to the end.

The Syrian youth of Damascus on this day laid flowers at the dilapidated General Staff building. This building was badly damaged as a result of the terrorist act and the attempt to seize it. Then in a battle with the terrorists killed 4 soldier of the Syrian army.

The anniversary of the October war of liberation was celebrated by the people and the leadership of Syria, not only in Damascus. In the province of Latakia, in the village of Kardah, people visited the grave of President Hafez Al-Assad, whose name is associated with those heroic pages of the Syrian stories. To honor his memory came both official delegations and the common people, who brought flowers to the leader, who is remembered and honored.

In Tartus, there was a massive demonstration of Syrian youth. The people gathered on the embankment with Syrian national banners and portraits of the Presidents - Hafez Al-Assad and Bashar Al-Assad.

In Homs, Suwayda, and even in the troubled today of Aleppo, cultural events were held related to this day. Governor of Homs Munir Ahmad Muhammad visited the families of the fallen in that war and presented them with gifts.

The holiday gained a special scope in the liberated Quneitra. There was a ceremony honoring the families of the fallen and a festival of culture, which was attended by writers and poets. It is characteristic that there are no “oppositionists” -terrorists right on the ground of Kuneitra. Residents of this city know what occupation is and do not want a repetition. They understand what the so-called “freedom” is leading to - it has already inflicted grave wounds on this city, even in those times ...

The Day of the October Liberation War was also celebrated abroad. Actions of solidarity with Syria, dedicated to this glorious anniversary, were held in France, Australia, India, Jordan. Russia did not stand aside, where representatives of the Anti-Globalization Movement and the Committee of Solidarity with the People of Syria held a solemn evening in honor of the Liberation War and took part in the opening ceremony of the Syrian Information Center in Moscow. Yes, Syria has opened the first such center abroad, whose task will be to help in information confrontation.

All Syrians, both in the country and abroad, piously honor their heroic history. And only a handful of renegades, scumbags, for whom there is nothing sacred, make terrible atrocities even in such a holy day for the people.

Thus, in the village of Al-Shbina in the province of Homs, bandits committed a cynical and brutal crime.

People in the village gathered on a sad occasion - to take on the last journey an elderly man who died at the hands of terrorists.

Gangsters who do not respect either history or death decided to multiply the number of deaths. They attacked the participants of this memorial service and opened fire on them. Four people died. A few more injured.

Blood at the mourning event ... What could be worse and more tragic? And who is able to shoot at the grieving? Yes, and on the national holiday of the country? Sorry, dear readers, but I don’t have a suitable definition for those nonhumans who did it ... Some who speak on behalf of the world community call them "revolutionaries" and "fighters for democracy."

Villains paid for their crime. Law enforcement agencies worked professionally and conducted a special operation against the gunners, during which the attackers suffered a well-deserved punishment. Most of those thugs eliminated, their weapons were withdrawn.

On the day of the October anniversary, the Syrian army won a rather significant victory over those who raised their hand to the Fatherland. The servicemen were trimmed from the terrorists of Qudsey. This is a suburb of Damascus. The militants terrorized the residents of Qudsei for several weeks, plundered their homes, organized actions of intimidation. Now normal life is restored in the wounded village.

A small victory was also won on the diplomatic front. The UN Security Council, under pressure from Syrian and Russian diplomacy, nevertheless condemned the terrible terrorist attacks in Aleppo on October 3, which resulted in the death of a 34 man and injuring 122. Apparently, gentlemen, who stubbornly did not want to do this, were still ashamed. Or found it inconvenient to deny the obvious.

And the next day, October 7, the center of Damascus shuddered with a deafening explosion. A mined car exploded on Khaled Bin Walid Street. An explosive device was attached to the bottom of the car. One person was killed, several were injured. Caused material damage to neighboring buildings. Ten cars that were nearby are now so bent that they cannot be restored ...

After 39 years after a glorious, heroic day in history, Syria is facing a thunderous present. But the sun of the new victory will shine over her! And I dare to hope that the 40 anniversary of the October War of Liberation will pass in a completely different situation - against the background of the new Victory! The country will once again manage to overcome all the difficulties, overcome the terrible conspiracy unleashed against it, get out of the current situation even more. And in that coming day, not a single terrorist act will happen!

Israel and America have one goal. And they say this without hiding. The more you kill each other, the more your blood, the better it will be for them. And what kind of humanity of these nations can we talk about. And why are they want in response, obedience ????? So any nation will not tolerate this, not when. Africa was already in slavery. It seems now they want to turn Asia into slaves. You are pouring someone else's blood, now worry about your own! Dear hawks of the "world"!

In general, you read the comments of our Israeli "friends", for them it would be better if some leader of Al-Qaeda was in power, with a beard and a gun, who would declare a holy war on Israel. Than a moderate Muslim, and a doctor Assad. not joining. And he listens to our advice. But we are not an authority for Israel. They have a different idol!

I’ll clarify: Bashar al-Assad is not a Muslim, he is a swindler. The Alawites have nowhere to retreat, Muslims consider them heretics, so they will resist to the last.

Iran, Russia and China need help with the Syrians, otherwise the enemies of their sovereign state will be wiped off the face of the earth. It will be quite difficult to organize the underground and the liberation movement then, and there are no forests, you won’t go to the partisans)

What Russia is waiting for, it is not clear, is such a favorable moment for Tartus to be made not a simple logistics point, but a real military base. The Syrians are currently only for it! Another such case may then not be presented ....

But what is it that the Alawites are not Muslims, like Shiites, Sunites, Bedouins, and Druze?

Druzes were recognized as Muslims several years ago, having gathered for this a certain all-Muslim congress. Many Muslims consider Alavites to be pagans.

The Alawites are an ancient mysterious sect. A strange hybrid of Islam and Christianity. Alavism was created at the end of the 9th century by a certain Hassan el-Askar. Until now, the rituals of Alavism are hidden, the Alawites have no holy books, the tradition is transmitted orally. The Alawites partake of wine, worship wine, and at times identify it with God. For them, wine turns into Allah. The Alawites worship the fourth caliph - Ali, who was a cousin of the prophet Muhammad and married the daughter of the "prophet". And who does not worship Ali, in the next life is born in the guise of an animal. At the same time, they celebrate Christmas and Epiphany and Nauryz (Navruz) everywhere in different ways, they believe in the Holy Trinity. In general, a hybrid of Muslim Christianity and paganism. Many Sunnis accept Alavite rule by the power of the “infidels,” and feel literally humiliated. After all, only a hundred years ago, during the time of the Turkish Empire, the Alawites were a caste of untouchables)

First, you cannot be so ungrateful. Damascus in 1973 was saved by Iraqis and melted, who, after the defeat of the Syrian army, managed to stop despite the enormous losses of Israeli tanks in 30 km from Damascus. The second of all the successful actions of the Syrian army recalls the capture by the Syrian commandos of an intelligence point on Mount Hermon, by the way I do not know what you have there, but our winter resort has excellent winter resorts. And the last, from the point of view of any military result of the actions of the Syrian army, can only be assessed as a strategic defeat in the presence of overwhelming superiority at the initial stage of hostilities. But they broke into you (the Syrians) so that for 40 years in the Golan you have behaved like goodies. Success Assad! hi

It was they who, after the defeat of the Syrian army, delayed the advance of the Israeli army until the ceasefire. And I wrote to Mrs. Gromova that she would not tell tales at a specialized forum.

“There is a lot in common between Russia and Syria.” Perhaps this is so, linguists even argue that the names are etymologically very close, the root system is the same in words. In the world, a lot of things are interconnected, maybe Syria will stand or fall depends on the question of which the world will we live? I don't know, maybe.

Stop trending, show us the map of the beginning of the 1973 hostilities and their end, and we will all laugh together how the Syrians "liberated" Quneitra and Hermon, which Tsakhal left after the end of hostilities by the decision of the same UN.
It is certainly understandable how Assad, the father of the Syrian people, could explain another defeat to Israel: declare it a victory and celebrate it every year. Here are just the facts (the loss of territory and the drowning of their own army) somehow do not fit into the victorious picture of citizen Gromova.

The Syrian army conducted several brilliant operations.

tekionora, explain pzhlsta, the amazing vitality of the Assad regime that you hate. Was the Syrians so frightened to death that they were so paralyzed by fear and afraid to even think about taking up arms?
As far as I see and know, rotten regimes are examples: Georgia near Shevardnadze, Kyrgyzstan near Akayev, Egypt near Mubarak and others, fall very quickly even with a small attack by small units, because the dictator does not have proper support from the security forces, first of all, there is no support in the army . Then dictators have to stupidly run away headlong.
I don’t see close here. On YouTube I see Syrian army men - they’re not going to fight and run.
I’m very interested in your version of survivability of the regime of Assad. Enlighten already.
And at the same time bring convincing facts of the Assad genocide against your people. Just do not need references to Al-Jazeera and al-Arabia, once again do not tell Formans, here the madhouse and so enough ..
Where did you come from? She is brand new in her handwriting, for them such things are characteristic, oh - "yes, here I will shine! We will use a mind and all that!"
To begin with, prove that you are not blonde.
And yet - remember - just remember, remember very strongly - perhaps Assad is with ... son, but he is ours with ... son, and now ours is yours to have with us and do not care deeply about your righteous indignation.

I will express my opinion, based on what I read and not only here :).
To those who write here about "Our son of a bitch Assad" I want to note that he is not a son of a bitch and not ours :) His father was a son of a bitch, who really held Syria in his fist, not hesitating in his methods. Bashar al-Assad was not eager for the presidency from the very beginning, he is a rather gentle and intelligent person, and he was made president somewhat spontaneously. However, remembering the fate of Gaddafi, whom Western countries licked in the ass while they needed his oil and immediately handed him over to the enemies, who at first mocked and then brutally killed, Assad had no choice but to flee the country with a suitcase of money, giving it to be torn apart by Islamists, liberals and bandits in different proportions, or to defend themselves. He decided to defend himself, and so far he is doing quite well, which suggests that the people, in general, support him. And in Syria, people really live, not tribes, as in Libya. So, in general, I believe that it would be a blessing for Syria and its people if Assad first pressed down the armed rebels, and then carried out small reasonable reforms and let some of the most sane oppositionists closer to power. But not in power :)

      - he exaggerated intentionally, deliberately translated into Amer jargon (the authors of this expression are they, this is about the bloody Duvalier, they spoke like that) for the fasting opponent this jargon is very close, therefore, the position will reach him faster.

I’m wondering, but who puts the cons? The article was written sincerely, the experiences of the author are embedded there, I even got a tear.

The only thing I disagree with is that calling the October coup d'état “Great” just won't turn my tongue. It's pretty hypocritical to praise our coup that took the lives of so many people while condemning the FSA militants. Especially considering the fact that both there and there were hirelings bought by the West for the collapse of two countries they did not like.
