The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the launch of the Caliber-PL cruise missiles from a submarine to destroy ground targets on the territory of Ukraine as part of an ongoing special military operation.
According to the Ministry of Defense, a salvo launch of four Caliber-PL cruise missiles was carried out from the Black Sea at a target located on the territory of Ukraine. The military traditionally does not name the target on which the submarine or other ship worked, but earlier in the morning report, the official representative of the military department, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that the strike with high-precision missiles was inflicted on the railway. station Malin in the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine, where the equipment and weapons of the 10th mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine transferred to the Donbass were located.
(...) the crew of the Black Sea submarine fleet from the Black Sea carried out a salvo launch of four Kalibr cruise missiles at designated ground targets
- said in a statement.
The only thing that is hard to see is from what position of the submarine the missiles were launched. It seems that all the same from the underwater, but this is not accurate.
Which of the submarines struck is also not reported. To date, the Black Sea Fleet has six diesel-electric submarines of Project 636.3 Varshavyanka. The entire series of submarines was built at the Admiralty Shipyards shipyard in St. Petersburg. By the way, another diesel-electric submarine is now undergoing post-repair tests just in the Black Sea. We are talking about the Alrosa submarine, which received the opportunity to use Caliber cruise missiles after modernization.
