The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the launch of Caliber cruise missiles from a submarine as part of a special operation in Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the launch of the Caliber-PL cruise missiles from a submarine to destroy ground targets on the territory of Ukraine as part of an ongoing special military operation.

According to the Ministry of Defense, a salvo launch of four Caliber-PL cruise missiles was carried out from the Black Sea at a target located on the territory of Ukraine. The military traditionally does not name the target on which the submarine or other ship worked, but earlier in the morning report, the official representative of the military department, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that the strike with high-precision missiles was inflicted on the railway. station Malin in the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine, where the equipment and weapons of the 10th mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine transferred to the Donbass were located.

(...) the crew of the Black Sea submarine fleet from the Black Sea carried out a salvo launch of four Kalibr cruise missiles at designated ground targets

- said in a statement.

The only thing that is hard to see is from what position of the submarine the missiles were launched. It seems that all the same from the underwater, but this is not accurate.

Which of the submarines struck is also not reported. To date, the Black Sea Fleet has six diesel-electric submarines of Project 636.3 Varshavyanka. The entire series of submarines was built at the Admiralty Shipyards shipyard in St. Petersburg. By the way, another diesel-electric submarine is now undergoing post-repair tests just in the Black Sea. We are talking about the Alrosa submarine, which received the opportunity to use Caliber cruise missiles after modernization.

We will assume that it was Alrosa that, after repairs, tested combat missile launches against ground targets. And as it was announced, the launches were successful, all targets were hit.

This, of course, is not bad, but one must be prepared to just as successfully "work out" on those American ships that dare to break through to Odessa. With torpedoes and KR attacks on surface targets, everything is much worse than shooting at a ground target.

As a test, Alrossa is very good, 2 in one at once, and the boat was checked, and the combat mission was completed.
And if Varshavyanka worked, then isn’t it too expensive? From Iskander or even Buyan, it would probably be cheaper to let them in.

Apparently Alrosa fired - check everything after modernization. Off...

from torpedo tubes. We need submarines with vertical mines like the United States with 154 cruise missiles.

        In the black sea?
        Length 3M14: 8,22 meters
        PU height 9,52 m
The diameter of the square, which is 8-9 m in the video.
        How to shove the unimpressed?
In the United States, these are converted nuclear submarines with SLBMs, which, according to START-3, lost their ICBMs.
We do not have enough submarines for strategic purposes.
And so we are lagging behind, and given the KOH, it’s generally bad.
For the Black Sea / Ukraine and these in abundance.
So enough land launchers with P-500 (9M728)

Beautiful. Interesting: is there water vapor in the place where the rockets came out of the water? Did the rocket launcher start working underwater?

You can no longer shoot shots of launches: there are already enough of them. They are all the same. The public is interested in shots of hits (various).

Most likely, the launch was carried out from the surface or slightly buried under water, because the missiles have a significant initial speed. There is also a feature - launching during daylight hours (almost always in the dark). It looks like it's far from the war zones.

        a little recessed
        this is underwater
Missiles of the Caliber-PLE complex are launched from standard torpedo tubes of a 533 mm submarine from a depth of 30-40m

If desired, you can launch directly from Sevastopol. Perhaps it was. Maybe near Snake Island. or anywhere else in the Black Sea. The range of calibers allows .

Yuri, hardly so close. This weapon system is designed for long distances, outside the zone of destruction of the enemy. The Snake is full of all sorts of pieces of iron floating and hanging on cables. In principle, a grenade can be thrown into an enemy trench from a distance of 3 meters. But for some reason they throw it from a grenade launcher, or from a mortar ...

I am writing from Sevastopol, you can throw it away, but the submarine is in view of its secrecy. (Americans are watching the ships!), It can also come under the shore to the Svidoukras! I suppose it is necessary to choose the most unexpected places and change them. Slap and the hotels flew!

Apparently, launches from a submerged position from torpedo tubes. Nicely)))
