Ukraine is not Russia: a look at the Ukrainian "Mein Kampf" 30 years later

64 393 190

At the time of the collapse of the USSR, I was 5 years old, naturally, at that age I could not fully understand what was happening, and even more so, there could be no question of giving any assessment to the events and actions of certain political figures.

In the light of the ongoing events, many of my fellow citizens of my age and younger may be asked the question - what did happen then? What was it? When did it start and, most importantly, did Russia and Ukraine have a chance for a different development of events?

Trying to find answers to these questions, I decided that the best way would be to return to the point when Ukraine became an independent state. The book “Ukraine is not Russia” is an explanatory book, as the author himself, the second president of Ukraine, Leonid Danilovich Kuchma, called it.

Its importance for me, as a reader, in the context of the questions posed lies in the fact that it was Kuchma who largely determined the initial conditions for Ukraine, and, most importantly, he himself vector development of Ukrainian statehood. Kuchma is the only president of Ukraine who managed to stay in power for 2 presidential terms. In his book, I found answers (at least for myself) to the voiced questions. And now I want to share my thoughts with readers.

Prologue

While reading the first chapters of the book, I had the feeling that the author was trying to "sit on two chairs", constantly maneuvering between contradictions.

On the one hand, he speaks of the need to build an exclusive "national" Ukrainian state in Ukraine. This is indicated by the huge amount of text devoted to the rigid and uncompromising dissociation of Ukrainians from Russians.

Kuchma is not satisfied with the perception of Russians even as "distant relatives." Emphasis is repeatedly placed on Ukrainian identity, historicity, mentality and its difference from Russian.

And, therefore, since the Ukrainians so different from the Russians, that we are talking about a separate country, then the new country should live in Ukrainian. From this point on, the controversy begins.

Kuchma claims that as a "guarantor" he cared about the rights of all peoples in Ukraine. But the question arises - if Ukraine is multinational, and Poles, Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians (USSR in miniature) live on its territory, then what is the point in secession from the USSR? Just cut off a small slice of the USSR so that a handful of adventurers get power?

What kind of "independence" was it then? Independence of whom and from whom? If Kuchma proclaims its entire national composition as an integral part of the new Ukraine, then for ethnic Russians we are talking about independence from Russians (Russia)?

image of a democratic president

In one of the chapters, Kuchma accused Yeltsin of not wanting to lose the image of a democratic president, since at that time it was precisely the commitment to "democracy" that allowed many yesterday's "comrades" to "surface" to the surface of political life.

Against the background of such remarks about Yeltsin, the following quote looks very curious

and in Russia and, oddly enough, in Ukraine, there are millions of people who still do not perceive this simple truth (“Ukraine is not Russia.” - Approx. Aut.), for them my book may not be superfluous.

Kuchma actually admits that in Ukraine itself there are people (and we are talking about a period of time after 10 years of “independence” of Ukraine!), who consider themselves Ukrainians, but do not share his views on the degree of separation of Russians and Ukrainians. At the same time, while proclaiming himself a democrat, Kuchma does not declare in relation to this category of citizens that he respects their views.

On the contrary, with regard to them, he directly states that their opinion is just a “mistake” and a “misunderstanding” (well, they “do not perceive” the “correct” ideas), which should not determine the course of Ukraine. It turns out that Ukrainian democracy from the very beginning did not work for everyone.

Conciliar or Federalist?

Ukraine seems to be woven from distinctly different historical areas. For the indifferent and enemies, this is like a patchwork quilt. For those who love Ukraine - a pattern full of deep meaning and beauty.

Did Kuchma understand that the reverse side of such “beauty” is that different parts of this pattern have different views on many important issues for the country? And consequently, before the Ukrainian statehood, whatever it may be, there is an extremely difficult task - to balance these views within the framework of one country.

A number of Ukrainian figures of the past understood the problem and proposed a federal structure for an "independent" Ukraine as a solution. Such a step would help reduce tensions within Ukrainian society and would allow individual historical regions of Ukraine to have greater autonomy within a single country.
Prominent Ukrainian nationalists, including Mykhailo Hrushevsky, also supported federalization at various times.

Here I have to make a small digression. In the process of preparing the article, I came across heated debates, both on Russian and Ukrainian sites. Anticipating a similar development of events in the comments, I want to analyze this situation.

Disputes were held regarding the words of V.V. Putin.

The Russian leader noted that in the fundamental works of Ukrainian nationalists of the XNUMXth century it is written that Ukraine is multinational, should be a federal state, and it is necessary to “build good relations with Russia”.

A number of commentators have accused Putin of forgery. And the appeal to the authority of the Ukrainian nationalists of the past (who were unlike the current intellectuals) was sought to be presented as a kind of “passing game” between Medvedchuk and Putin. One example of such a position is as follows

I am by no means a historian, but I will speak out.
The Russian leader is not a historian either. I am 99,999% sure that V.V. Putin did not read the works, and even more so the “fundamental” ones, by the Ukrainian nationalists of the XNUMXth century, just as I did not read them either. Then where did our V.V. Putin get this information from? Answer: Putin retells to the people the words of his godfather, the Ukrainian nationalist Medvedchuk.

In reality, Putin "told the people" the words of not only Medvedchuk, but also Kuchma. Since in the chapter “Conciliar or federalist”, among other things, Kuchma writes the following:

I specifically studied the biography of Grushevsky, and not only from a natural interest in this great man, but also because Hrushevsky was actually the first president of Ukraine, and the portrait gallery of our presidents is still small. I will say right away: Mikhail Sergeevich Grushevsky, the father of Ukrainian independence, was inclined to overestimate the perfection of the human race.
As his biographers write, in the idea of federalism he saw the ideal of justice, in this idea for him converged, as in a focus, all the brightest - equality, democracy, self-government and socialism.

And further.

Moreover, for a long time he was convinced, quite in the spirit of his socialist ideology, that the principle consistently put into practice democratic federalism makes the full state independence of Ukraine optional. That's what I thought then he is not alone. Ukrainian National Congress in April 1917, under the impression of the democratic February Revolution in Petrograd, he adopted a resolution on establishing relations between Ukraine and the peoples of Russia on a federal basis.

This situation cannot but indicate the extremely low level of awareness of modern supporters of “independence” - a “duck” got into the information field that Putin refers to Medvedchuk, and there was not a single person who would write in the comments that, in fact, Kuchma wrote the same thing. Why read books if there are people like Arestovich who will tell Ukrainians who they are and where they come from?

But let us return to the further discussion of our topic.

Having outlined Grushevsky's position, Kuchma enters into a dispute in absentia with him. And if before that he criticized his opponents more rudely, exposing them as "silly people" who "do not understand the problems of Ukraine", then with respect to Hrushevsky he acts ingratiatingly and cautiously, understanding his authority.

At the same time, the difference in the level of preparation of the participants in this “correspondence polemic” is striking. Grushevsky is a professional academic historian who has been dealing with the very “problematics of Ukraine” all his life, moreover, in the context of relations with Russia. Kuchma himself gives an exhaustive description of his competence - "and in our village club there is a wonderful selection of literature."

Ukrainian radicals

To complete the picture, I consider it necessary to make some digression from the works of Kuchma and introduce the reader to other important characters and their ideas. Without this digression, the picture of what is happening will be incomplete.

The ideas voiced by Kuchma seemed to me very similar to the ideas of Dontsov and Korchinsky, with the only difference being that Kuchma expressed them “politically correct” and “diplomatically” – they say, there are unintelligent Ukrainians who foolishly have a different view on the fate of Ukraine. The above-mentioned characters expressed their thoughts more straightforwardly, openly dividing Ukrainian society into "Cossacks" and "swineherds". That is, essentially implying the caste system of society.

The quotes below are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute propaganda of the ideas of their authors. On the contrary, they are published in the context of criticism of such views.

Throughout the history of Ukraine, two psychological types of Cossacks and swineherds have been fighting.

However, the greatest hatred, not theoretical, but purely physiological, in us is caused not so much by the image of a predatory and insidious mondialist somewhere far away, but by the image of our own, Kyiv or Lvov swineherd.

The fact that generations of adherents of such views were brought up in Ukraine allows us to take a fresh look at the reports about why some Ukrainian units show such indifference to the fate of the civilian Ukrainian population that ended up in the NVO zone, not to mention the civilian population of the DPR and LPR .

The attitude of these units to peaceful "Ukrainians" as to "cattle" is not at all an invention of Russian propagandists, but a documented position of a number of Ukrainian nationalists.

Speaking about the roots of the “Ukrainian Cossacks”, one cannot fail to mention what it was like in the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries. In fact, it was an association of Cossacks with primitive self-government bodies, successively replacing each other. The Cossacks constantly maneuvered between the larger external "players" in the region - the Russian Empire, Poland, Sweden, the Ottoman Empire, from conflict to conflict taking the side of one or the other.

The relationship between some representatives of the Zaporizhzhya Cossacks and Russia can be characterized by such a distinction as the Order of Judas.

The Order of Judas is an order made in a single copy in 1709 by order of Tsar Peter I to “reward” Hetman I. S. Mazepa for going over to the side of Sweden in the Northern War.

Mazepa himself “was viewed by historiography and official journalism of the Russian Empire as a traitor to the state. In modern Ukraine, he is revered as a national hero.

Ukraine is not Russia: a look at the Ukrainian "Mein Kampf" 30 years later
Poroshenko at the unveiling of the monument to Mazepa in 2016

Ukraine is anti-Russia

Our main difficulties with Russia do not lie where they are usually seen by the Ukrainian media. Among our problems there is one that is solved to a rather painful extent. Decades will pass before my compatriots can safely say to themselves that it has been solved. This is not a Russian-Ukrainian problem. This is a Ukrainian problem. But it is closely connected with Russia.
It is about our identity and our psychology. Political scientists and sociologists of Ukraine agree that the processes of consolidation of the Ukrainian nation are still far from complete. We still don't fully understand who we are.
One of the important components of Ukrainian self-identification lies in the formula: Ukraine is not Russia.

This is perhaps the most important quote in the entire book, because in this short passage, Kuchma bluntly states that when starting a project called Ukraine, no one could articulate exactly who the Ukrainians were.

Some liberals put the question in this way - poor, unfortunate Ukraine, inhabited by "Ukrainians", is trying to self-determine, and big Russia insidiously hinders them in this noble cause.

However, the situation is somewhat different. In Ukraine was и offers a category of citizens that has very specific views on what it means to be Ukrainian. This is also expressed in the opening of the monument to Mazepa, the very fact of the opening of which declares the position that the Ukrainian is a traitor to Russia. And in the already voiced positions of the Ukrainian radicals. In these positions, I did not see any poetic rambling and uncertainty.

Another thing is that Kuchma simply could not voice it then at the official level. By voicing this directly and decisively, this would not allow him to maintain the image of a “democrat”, and the reaction of the traditionally Russian-oriented regions would be tougher, as would Russia’s position, at least on the issue of Crimea.

At the same time, when discussing who Ukrainians are, I consider it important to consider two examples from the cinema.

The first example is an excerpt from a documentary (1941 Ukrainians in Smolensk. Ukrainians in Smolensk (Russia)), filmed in Germany, in which the image of a Ukrainian, in the words of the Ukrainian classic, is “painted in the colors in which he is painted”.

And another passage, already from the USSR.

It becomes obvious that the title of "Ukrainian" is claimed by people who have not just different, but opposite and even irreconcilable views.

One part considered themselves Ukrainians, more or less oriented towards Russian civilization, the other - Ukrainians, supporters of Mazepa and Bandera.

This struggle has taken place throughout history, but since 2014 it has entered the terminal stage. Then the West began to actively support the anti-Russian agenda, and the slogan “Ukraine = not Russia" began to transform more and more into "Ukraine = anti-Russia".

At the same time, Western media presented Ukraine to their viewers exclusively as a country that unequivocally made its choice in favor of the West. She did this ostensibly freely and democratically, although at the same time the following events were taking place:

Based on the foregoing, one disappointing conclusion can be drawn. Ukrainian society was initially divided into pro-Russian and pro-Western components, but instead of trying to balance the contradictions through federalization, the path of centralization of power was chosen.

Kuchma played a key role in this matter, primarily because he was very close to the origins of the “independence” of Ukraine, and in subsequent periods of centralized power, federalization was already unprofitable. Nobody wanted to share the powers they had, and above all in the context of the redistribution of financial flows.

This issue is well covered in this speech by Muraev. At the end of the video, it is said to whom this option was unprofitable and why.

Ultimately, the anti-Russian ideologies historically formed in Ukraine became a very convenient tool for our Western geopolitical opponents. Since 2014, Ukraine has finally lost its independence and sovereignty, completely turning into a battering ram against Russia, and the further development of events was practically predetermined.

The answer to the question of when this began can also be a quote from the already mentioned Korchinsky. This interview was published back in 2000.

El.: In assessing your internal situation, do you take into account the factor of American or, more broadly, mondialist pressure, and how is it manifesting itself inside Ukraine at the moment?
DK: Naturally, we take it into account, especially since the role of this factor is quite large. As an example, the following remark can be cited: over the past year, the United States has invested a meager amount of $3 million in the Ukrainian economy, while they have invested two or three orders of magnitude more in politics. It's also not very much, but it's much more. Both the American embassy and the AFL-CIO office in Kyiv are trying very hard to influence the processes taking place in Ukraine, as well as the mass of so-called American public institutions and foundations that are represented in Ukraine.

At the same time, we must be very careful in the current realities with the word "Ukrainian", remembering that there is an understanding of the Ukrainian not only "according to Bandera" or Mazepa, but also "according to Leonid Bykov."

    Poor things.
They tried so hard to kill the Russian in themselves that they killed the man in themselves.

Ukraine is a typical loser country. The same loser as her current "heroes" were losers.
Mazepa was robbed by the Swedes on his way to Turkey and died in poverty in Moldavia.
Petlyura was shot dead in Paris by an anarchist Jew.
Konovalets was blown up by an NKVD agent with a bomb.
Bandera was liquidated by a KGB agent.
Shukhevych himself shot himself so as not to fall into the hands of SMERSH alive.
Everywhere you look - solid losers who have achieved absolutely nothing in life. So what can a state be if it teaches its youth through the life examples of losers with a capital "N"?

Do not confuse nationality with place of residence and citizenship. Namely.

Ukrainian is not a nationality, as such, i.e. not ethnicity to a particular people. BUT this is a LOCAL name of a person's place of residence or CITIZENSHIP as belonging to a particular state. Namely.
In other words, "Ukrainian" is the same as "Russian", "Muscovite", "Petersburg", "Volzhan", "Siberian", etc.

Nationality is an ethnic concept as belonging to a certain people with its own language, history, customs, geographical place of origin, etc.
Nationality is "Russian", "Pole", "Jew", "Lithuanian", "Latvian", etc.

In 192, when the USSR was formed in 1922, the All-Russian census was conducted in Soviet Russia.
In the All-Russian census of 1920, special attention was paid to the national question (according to the results, the ethnographic composition of the population of the regions and the country as a whole was revealed), professional occupations of citizens.
И during this 1920 census in Ukraine, many Jews, Liovtsy, Latvians, Poles, etc. in the column "nationality" they wrote "Ukrainian". At the same time, they expected that by demonstrating their loyalty to the new - Soviet - political power for Ukrainian chauvinists in this way, they would receive from the Ukrainian chauvinists the appropriate preferences in their careers and privileges in their social position.
And during this All-Russian population census of 1920 "Ukrainian" chauvinists of all stripes in the column "nationality" forcibly also recorded ethnic Russians as "Ukrainians", changing Russian full names to "Ukrainian".

TOTAL. A Ukrainian is, in the classical sense, historically not a nationality, as such, but a LOCAL affiliation during the formation of the state of the Ukrainian SSR ..
In this case, it is important to know what kind of people, nationality in Ukraine turned out to be the original chauvinists towards Russia and why.

It is very difficult to call this a mistake! This was the conscious policy of the Bolsheviks.
Lenin himself was an ardent Russophobe - a Marxist and a fake "leader" of the Russian proletariat, and all of his Bolshevik guards were Russophobe, except for Stalin and Ordzhenikidze.

The main condition for the West to support the West and Russian Social Democracy represented by 10 then leading political parties in Russia there was a mandatory administrative-territorial division of the Republic of Ingushetia according to the so-called. "national" attribute. And the Bolshevik Party was one of them.
Lenin is a "blind" Marxist and Russophobe, as was K. Marx, the grandson of 2 rabbis.
It was at the insistence of Lenin that the Bolsheviks implemented in Russia this demand of the West on the administrative-territorial division of Russia according to the so-called. "national" sign.
The West only did not count on building a communist system in Russia.

TOTAL. Together with Vel. Oct. social revolution and administrative-territorial division by the Bolsheviks of Soviet Russia on the basis of the so-called. "titular" nationalities in Russia, a geopolitical nationalist upheaval also took place. Namely.
In this case, if historically, Russia initially developed as a state of the primordially RUSSIAN PEOPLE, which took other peoples under its protection, seeking protection and support from it, then as a result of the administrative division of the territory of Russia by the Bolsheviks according to the nat. sign after Vel. Oct. socialist. revolution, the state of the Russian people ceased to exist - Russia became a state of NATIONAL MINORITIES.

            Ukraine is anti-Russia
The development of SOVIET Russia, the world's first socialist state, initially had a twofold - contradictory - character. Namely.

On the one hand, the Russian people, who believed in the communist idea of the Bolshevik-Leninists, and, being the bearer of the sovereign mentality, on all fronts of social construction he really created socialism within the framework of the whole country as his entire multinational Motherland. As a matter of fact, he had nothing else to do.
But at the same time, on the other hand, in the former tsarist national outskirts, where feudal relations still prevailed and there was no own national proletariat, the petty national bourgeoisie and former local feudal lords received power from the Bolshevik-Leninists and under their control. The national industry was already built by the hands of the Russian and Russian-speaking peoples.
In this case, everything that was really created national during the years of Soviet power in the once backward tsarist national outskirts - the national republics - is only the local national party and Soviet bureaucracy, as well as the national creative intelligentsia serving it (social scientists, writers, artists, etc.). This national party and Soviet intelligentsia objectively retained the national bourgeois-feudal mentality not only in relation to their own working people, but also in relation to the Russians who came to “hunch on them” up to the time of the so-called Gorbachev “new thinking”.

TOTAL National problems in the USSR not only were from the very beginning of Soviet power, but also had a national-BOURGEOIS class character in relation to the Russian people. The counter-bourgeois - in comparison with 1917 - coup d'etat of 1991 in the USSR as a whole only raised from the bottom to the surface the already existing national-bourgeois deformations during the construction of socialism in Russia, which the Soviet leadership tried not to make public

We must turn Russia into a desert
                Myth summary and use cases

                1. The Jew Trotsky acted during the Revolution and the Civil War in Russia in exactly the same way as the Jew Zelensky is now acting at the behest of the West with his clownish camarilla "Kvartal-95", the national battalions and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Zelensky is at war with Russians and Russians until the LAST Ukrainian!
Trotsky not only organized the Red Army, but he also came up with the idea of enlisting the same Russians in the Red Army under the hostage of their relatives.
                2. Foreign detachments in the Red Army during the battles and executions of deserters - this is also an invention of his organizational handiwork.
                3. Trotsky is supported by the Anglo-Saxons and Zionists in the US Federal Reserve.
                4. Read the works of Trotsky to understand that there were 2 political currents in the Bolshevik movement: TROTSKYSM and STALINISM and how they differed. Namely.
Trotsky and Trotskyists, to which I partly attribute Lenin himself, made a coup d'etat in Russia to transfer all the wealth of Russia to external foreign control with the removal from power of the Russian people.
Stalin and the Stalinists advocated the sovereignty of Soviet Russia in building socialism. And if Stalin had not cleaned out the "5th column" of Trotskyists in Soviet Russia in 1937-1938, then the USSR would have lost the war with the West in 1941, and not in 1991!

In fact, the Federal Reserve System (US Fed) is not a government agency, but is owned by private owners - a group of predominantly foreign bankers - mostly Zionist moneylenders. In 1913, Congress gave America into perpetual debt slavery to the private Federal Reserve System, giving it the power to print money and control the American economic system.
Although under the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, the names of bank owners are kept secret, R.E. McMaster, publisher of "The Reaper", through confidential contacts with Swiss banks, found out that The following banks own a controlling stake in the Federal Reserve:
                1. London and Berlin Rothschild Banks
                2. Paris Bank Lazard Brothers
                3. Italian banks Israel Moses Sieff
                4. Hamburg Bank Warburg, Germany and Amsterdam
                5. New York Bank Kuhn Loeb (through his brother, who worked in this Bank, Trotsky received money for the 1917 coup d'état in Russia).
                6. New York Bank Lehman Brothers
                7. New York Bank Goldman Sachs
                8. New York Bank Chase Manhattan (Rockefeller-controlled)

And the list of shareholders of the US Federal Reserve, compiled according to Swiss banking sources, looks as follows:
                1. Rothschilds
                2. Lazard Frerez (Eugene Mayer)
                3. Israel siff
                4. Kun Loeb Company
                5. Warburg Company
                6. Lehman Brothers

And you take off your "rose-colored glasses" about the Bolsheviks and ask yourself a logical question: Why did the Soviet Union collapse after 74 years of Soviet power in the USSR?

What, in your opinion, with this collapse of the USSR, the Bolsheviks already disappeared in the country and historically had nothing to do with it?

So, in general, it was like that under the tsars, the outskirts lived better than Russia, to tell the truth, not in such volumes as under the USSR, but still. The point here is not so much in the system, but in our mentality. We took the territories of our neighbors not in order to plunder, but in order to protect them. And now we receive "gratitude" in full, especially from those who were actually saved from complete annihilation. This applies to the Ukrainians, they were saved from the Poles and Tatars, the Tribalts were saved from the Germans, Georgians and Armenians from the Turks, etc.

              I don't care about Hitler!
And what am I wrong about?

In Soviet times, indeed, in the programs on history at school and in universities in philosophical disciplines, we did not go through this true attitude of Lenin and K. Marx and the Bolsheviks of the Trotskyist persuasion to the Great Russians on the Russian question in detail from the works of the classics of the m / l in Russia / USSR at all.
I learned about the true attitude of the M/L classics towards the Russians only in connection with my passing the exam in M/L philosophy when passing the exams for the candidate's minimum in technical disciplines.
At that time, in our program for passing the exam in philosophy for the candidate minimum, there was 1 question out of 60 in the examination papers on the works of the classics of the syllabus on national issues.
And on the exam I was "excellent".

So, togzha at the very same time, my hair stood on end from reading the works and letters of Lenin in 1920-1922 and his attitude towards the Russians !!!
I will never forgive the classics of M/L for this attitude towards Russians! We are now paying for the genocide of Russians by the Bolsheviks-Trotskyists with blood and death. It was they who laid the time bomb in 1917 for the collapse of the USSR in 1991 and the apartheid of national minorities towards the Russian people in the post-Soviet space.

And you are simply stuck on the limited information from the school and university curriculum. And, apparently, you studied the works of Lenin, Marx and Lenin only from historical and philosophical reference books, and not by reading their works yourself.
You just got unlucky with teachers.

In articles devoted to individual provinces, counties, large cities, in sections on the national and religious composition of their population, information was first provided on the total percentage of Russians, and then the percentage of Great Russians, Little Russians and Belarusians within them. Nevertheless, in Soviet times, when they gave information on the population of regions, cities and districts of the Ukrainian SSR, they indicated the percentage of Ukrainians, Russians, and representatives of other nationalities. For example, almost half of the population of Kharkiv and the majority of the population of a number of districts of the Kharkiv region, a significant part of the population
Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and their regions were quite officially considered Russians, not Ukrainians. Khrushchev in all documents, including when he was the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (b) of Ukraine, was indicated as Russian. In Soviet times, it was customary for Ukrainians to call Ukrainians by nationality, and not in the same way as in modern Ukraine, when Ukrainians are first of all called all the inhabitants of the country, and ethnic Ukrainians are distinguished from their number.

I saw another definition. Which I liked more, because. it contributes to the unity of the peoples living on the territory of the former USSR. This is important for winning the war with the West. A small fragment of the article.
The difference between the Russian nation and the Russian ethnic group. Is it dangerous to focus on one ethnic group, calling it Russian?

Russians are not an ethnic group, but a CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL nation, consisting of more than a hundred ethnic groups, including Slavs.
Russian is a linguistic people. No, not an "adjective", but a linguistic people. The state was built on this for a thousand years.
This principle provided a single people for the vast territory of the Empire, the 6th part of the planet.
The Russian Empire is unique - it is an inclusive empire, defensive and defensive, the elites of the accepted peoples became the elites of the Empire, like Shamil, for example.
Western empires were built differently, the nations were there by blood and there was no mixing with the colonized territories, since these territories were intended for exploitation.

Lenin and the Marxists set the task of eliminating the Fatherland, for the proletariat it does not exist, as we remember. They split the unitary empire into Maidan republics. They abandoned the adhesion of the whole people in the field of state policy and announced that Russians are not a linguistic concept, but an ethnic Slavic one. And then there was a scrapping of the thousand-year-old state construction. They canceled the concept of “Russian nation”, replaced this concept with an artificial ugly remake of “Soviet people”, which is equal to the name of the nation “industrial” or “chemical-technological”. The Slavs were called "Russians" and introduced the Maidan count
nationalities in the passport, planted indigenization, which exploded along with the Maidan federal structure in 1991.

Everything is correct! The Russian people is historically a state that forms a GREAT people and an overwhelming majority among other peoples of the USSR / Russia.
POWERFUL - this means caring for all the peoples of the country, as about their blood children, father and mother, and not only about the people of only one nationality.
But this applies not only to the Russian people, but also to the peoples of other national minorities!
And the Bolsheviks laid down privileges for Jews and national minorities with the violation of the national interests of the Russian people.

I involuntarily remembered the meeting of the head of the Department for Migration of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region and the head of the Department of the Federal Migration Service of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region about 4 years ago with Petersburgers who were not satisfied with the dominance of foreign migrants from Central Asia in the Russian market labor.
The protesters themselves invite me to give a professional assessment and forecast for the future on this meeting of the leadership of St. Petersburg with their opponents.
The situation was tense. People on edge. The work was very difficult.

So, a member of the Public Council of St. Petersburg, Alexander Rosenbaum, came to a meeting with the indignant citizens. Those present greeted him with hostility. Almost completely off the case, they pecked.
Only I managed to bring those present to their senses and stop the skirmish.

Yes, according to eyewitnesses, in the summer of 1941 there were political instructors who urged not to shoot at German soldiers, as allegedly "this is the German proletariat, duped by Hitler's propaganda and forcibly driven into the army." History teaches that it teaches nothing. In 1920, they also relied on the Polish proletariat, but in the end they received from the Poles in such a way that they had to give them the western parts of Ukraine and Belarus. In the same way, in 1939 they hoped for the Finnish proletarians, as a result they got half a year of a bloody hardest war and about 150 thousand were only killed on the Soviet side.

Respect to the author of the article. It is very important to find the origins of all the nightmare that is happening in Ukraine. But it is also important to remember that it was Grushevsky who introduced the concept of the so-called "Rus-Ukraine" as the sole successor of the so-called "Kievan Rus". Thus, Ukrainian nationalism became nothing more than unfulfilled imperial ambitions. "Yes, when OUR Kyiv was already golden-domed, frogs were still croaking in your Moksha swamps!" - these are the arguments presented to me by the most Russian-speaking "patriots of Ukraine". This is nothing but ENVY. And on this basis - hatred.

Speaking about the roots of the “Ukrainian Cossacks”, one cannot fail to mention what it represented in the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries.

By the way, the Cossacks had such a tradition. After the Poles satisfied the demands of the "rebels", and most often this was inclusion in the register, i.e. to live for free, the "rebels" handed over their leaders to be executed by the Poles. And there was another tradition, any uprising began with Jewish pogroms and the burning of debt books in taverns.

Also, the population of the entire Union had its say in the 1991 Referendum, everyone hoped for a strong PEOPLE'S power, not understanding that the people's power had already ended, which was used by the "perestroika" to manipulate the consciousness of the Soviet people, achieving their goal, which we are now "slurping" with large ladles.

It was pure betrayal, and there is no need to rack your brains. In 79 I went to a vocational school, lived in a dorm, there were a lot of guys, including from the Kharkov region, Cherkasy region. In 82 I was drafted into the SA, training, there were also guys from the Zhitomir region, Khmelnitsky, after the service I worked with men, also from those parts. And here's what I'll say, in those distant times, they didn't know who Grushevsky, Dontsov and similar figures were. Yes, they remembered Banderites and all the other riffraff with bad words. There is absolutely no difference between Ukrainians, Russians, Belarusians noPeople got married, had children, and moved all over the Union. And everyone considered themselves Russian. But then Gorbachev appeared, marked by Satan, and the winds of nationalism swept across the country. Popular fronts appeared, and all sorts of Rukhs...
Literally all the peoples of the USSR started talking about their exclusivity from the Russians. We are different, that's all you could hear. And then more, and it wasn't Kuchma who was in charge there, he just kept quiet at that time, they had Kravchuk there. Yeltsin appeared in the Russian Federation and also started talking, but not about the Russians, but about how everyone would run away, life in Russia would become better. True, he didn't specify ... to whom? And the state of Ukraine appeared when these two figures recognized the independence of the two republics, shaking hands.
This is where you need to look for the root of all current problems.

Why talk nonsense. What rehabilitation? Which of the enemy accomplices, traitors to the Motherland were rehabilitated? Rehabilitation is 1. Restoration of honor, reputation of a wrongly accused or discredited person. 2. Restoration (by court or administrative procedure) of previous rights. This term does not apply to traitors, accomplices, not at all, we need to understand the topic. There was an amnesty, something completely different ....
The Soviet government was kind, it gave the opportunity to atone for guilt not with blood, but with labor on construction sites of the national economy. Despite the groans of liberals about the bloody NKVD, the merciless Gebna, etc., it was not possible to check all displaced persons during the war for cooperation with the occupation authorities. In the period from 1941 to 1945, 34,5 million people were drafted into the Red Army! Plus, about 70 million Soviet citizens ended up in the territories occupied by Nazi Germany and its allies. About 3 million were in Nazi Germany for forced labor as Ostarbeiters. How many investigators do you need to have to check at least half a million people for cooperation with the Germans? And the punishers, as a rule, did not leave witnesses alive. So, in the post-war years, the authorities had to look for all sorts of bastards in the vast expanses of the USSR in order to give them what they deserved, according to their deeds. So, there was no talk of any rehabilitation. War crimes have no statute of limitations.

For those who don't understand. Rehabilitation is different from amnesty and pardon. Under the amnesty, persons were legally convicted of a crime in accordance with the requirements of the Criminal Code, and the sentence against them is legal. The use of amnesty in this case is explained by considerations of humanity. During rehabilitation, a person has been convicted or brought to criminal liability illegally. Rehabilitation serves as an act of social justice Amnesty and pardon are not judicial acts, but acts of a state-legal nature. They are adopted by the highest bodies of state power and administration. In contrast, rehabilitation is carried out by the bodies or officials who made the decision, or by the prosecutor's office, court.

With an amnesty, the criminal record stamp remains the same as due to this restriction. Kuchma did not hide the fact that he was "helped", and by a decent number of "co-authors". At the same time, he takes full responsibility for what he wrote. I got the impression that yes, he was not the only one writing. For example, I remember how surprised I was when I read the lines about how all the figures of the past on both sides were already dead and there was no point in stirring up old grievances. Although before that, the texts were full of tearful connotations regarding historical injustice towards Ukrainians, etc. And there are quite a few such minor inconsistencies.

dear commentators, can you think logically ???? who ruined the country for which our ancestors died. who yelled "capitalism save us", who demolished the monument to Dzerzhinsky, who banned the Communist Party, .....

By the way, the author very successfully drew a parallel with Hitler's main opus.

How do modern "patriots", both Ukrainian and Russian, differ from Hitler? After all, they spit on the USSR in exactly the same way. They also extol capitalism and the "free market".

The difference is that Hitler, as a nationalist, is consistent. He is smarter than our contemporary commentators. He does not stop at spitting on the USSR, but takes another step: "If the Russians cannot, are not capable of creating a full-fledged, normal statehood, we must help them by taking upon ourselves their leadership."

Kuchma does not undertake to lead Russia, but as a small-scale Fuhrer he talks about his separate statehood. And only the "Russian patriots", like half-wits, are left high and dry with their senseless hatred of the "failed State on its own territory".

No nation has the right to spit on the achievements and labors of its ancestors. This activity ends in death.

To put it briefly, the difference between Russian and NOT Russian nationalists comes down to one thing.

It is NOT Russians who say that: "problems with statehood in the USSR and the Russian Empire or the Russian Federation were because of the Russians, who, no matter what they do, will destroy everything and bring it to the point of absurdity." Therefore, it seems that one should stay away from the Russians.

And the "Russian patriots" are left high and dry, and begin strange chants about "mines laid by Marx and Lenin", about Jews, cunning Ukrainians, Asians, etc., who robbed us and we always suffered from everyone, and we naively freed them to our own detriment... Which is immediately interpreted by these "everyone" as self-admission of inferiority.

And all this is written and said by the enemies of the USSR, who divided the USSR among themselves against the will of the majority of voters on the territory of the USSR in March 1991, who for 30 years have not been able to create a single normal State from the republics of the USSR they captured, and therefore they compose “historical” myths.
They slandered the Soviet period; from the pre-revolutionary period, some said “Russia fed the whole world before the communists,” while others said “the Ukrainians dug up the Black Sea.”
All enemies of the USSR who captured the national republics of the USSR have the same myths about how they had their own States, but first the Russians occupied and oppressed them, then the Bolsheviks occupied and oppressed them again, and they themselves “fought for independence” for centuries, and specifically on the territory of the republics of the USSR they captured.

The same Ukraine, after the Mongol-Tatar invasion, did not create statehood, but no longer even had a tribal system. And after the collapse of the USSR, having acquired "independence", Ukraine tried to create a state from scratch, but it did not work out. She, as after the Mongol-Tatar yoke, fell into the hands of the West and became its colony.

However, the greatest hatred, not theoretical, but purely physiological, in us is caused not so much by the image of a predatory and insidious mondialist somewhere far away, but by the image of our own, Kyiv or Lvov swineherd.

In this quote, the images of the "Kyiv or Lviv swineherd" are not even close. If the Kiev swineherd after 1654 was under the influence of the Russian Empire, then the Lviv swineherd for about 700 years was under the influence of the Austrian Empire and Poland. This is the difference in the views and mentalities of these swineherds, and the latter have not changed these views, or rather their identity, to this day. And at the same time, some Kyiv swineherds were once singled out by Poland from among "all animals are equal" into the caste of Cossacks, who were in the hands of the Polish lords, like a punishing sword, but did not have the rights of a Pole, and at the same time among the Lviv swineherds there was no such caste. Lviv, or rather all Western Ukrainian, were under the rule of Austria, which harshly implanted in the minds of Western Ukrainians, the superiority of the Austrians over the Ukrainians. And all this had an impact on the following years, after the annexation of Western Ukraine to the USSR and what we received after the collapse of the Union, especially the former Ukrainian SSR.

In general, do not be afraid to read this book. I've read. Half of the content of the book actually refutes the thesis "Ukraine is not Russia" in its title.
Kuchma writes honestly on the whole, not hiding moments that are inconvenient for Ukrainians. What is worth only the phrase of the author "for the hundredth time I regret that the Ukrainian writer Gogol wrote only in Russian."
Almost half of the book is a very unsuccessful and generally unconvincing argument in favor of the fact that "Ukrainians are a separate people, and not just an ethnographic group of the Russian people."
Well, a small part of the book is devoted to the personal memoirs of the author and his political views.

In general, if you change the title of the book to "Ukraine is Russia", then the content can hardly be changed. Unless, taking into account current events (the book was written in 2003), remove Kuchma's story about how "Ukraine and Russia divorced peacefully and without bloodshed."

Let's think about it: hundreds of thousands of peasants were sent to remote places, like kulaks. How were they supposed to fight in the Red Army? And if Zoya came to you and burned down your house, and you had no place to live in the winter, how would you react to that? Here Putin gave instructions to the Russian troops not to oppress Ukrainians, and Comrade Stalin decided to freeze everyone, including the population. I will also add, after reading the comments, that it is unlikely that the position of Lenin, Stalin, or anyone else a hundred years ago could seriously affect the emergence and rapid growth of Ukrainian nationalism. These processes started a long time ago, had the support of a part of the population in certain areas, and the fact that these processes sharply intensified and began to play an important role after the collapse of the Union determined the geopolitical situation in the 90s. The Americans relied on the nationalist movements on the borders of the former USSR, generously supplied them with money, provided political support - this is the main reason.

They were just looking for someone more profitable to lie down at this historical moment. And plus "local fascism", when the Cossacks considered themselves superior to the "swineherds".

Until 1990, there were no Ukrainians at all on the territory of present-day Ukraine (with the exception of Galicia and Transcarpathia). They did not live there, and they did not die. The proof is simple - the first graves in cemeteries with inscriptions in Ukrainian appeared only after 1990. And before that, they wrote on gravestones only in Russian. Why did it happen?

And now explain to me what I had to do personally against the opportunists who seized power, the country and the minds of people?
Our people often like to show off, pretending to be "naive" and to whom it is necessary to explain things that in other nations even a child would understand.
Well, I can explain, although it wasn't me who was asked. I wasn't going to McDonald's then, but to a protest. And I got hit on the back by a "democratizer" so hard that it took me a month to get back to normal. I got it from a "simple Russian guy in a police uniform."
And then I understood, unlike you, Mr. "Soviet", that if a half-bandit, half-traitorous group can seize power over a people numbering about 300 million (!!! and that was the population of the USSR), then the history of this people is approximately the same as in K. Chukovsky's fairy tale "Cockroach". Only the end will be different. Not childish. And he will get exactly what he deserves. Even if he disappears, and that is what is happening - then it is right. There is no need for those who are not worthy to live on the earth to trample on it.

At the time of the collapse of the USSR, I was 5 years old, naturally, at that age I could not fully understand what was happening ...

I do not pretend to absolutely anything and do not want to look like some kind of mentor. At the time of the collapse of the USSR, I was already finishing my service and passed the VVK for dismissal.
Perhaps your subjective point of view will carry some truth - the truth of the thoughts of another person who wrote about it (made a film or told you much later).
Over time, even the same narrator's views on the same events change. That's how nature works.

Everyone knew everything and was completely messed up.

    Let's not be foolish either.
There were demonstrations and rallies in defense of the USSR all over the country.

There were weak demonstrations. If nothing could be done. So I wrote correctly that everyone was messed up ..... The army betrayed the Soviet oath, and now military pence are offended. Here's what happens if you don't cheat.

I will tell you what we need to do.

Here is what politician Yuri Boldyrev wrote: "If society is not capable of fighting traitors, if everyone is corrupt, we must surrender to those nations in the world where not everyone is corrupt. The Chinese, the Japanese and the Americans." Not everyone is corrupt among the Anglo-Saxons! In my opinion, he wrote it correctly?

And Leonid Bykov was a SOVIET Ukrainian, and since Banderastan considers everything Soviet hostile, then Bykov and people like him are enemies for them. This once again confirms that there is a civil war between the heirs of the Ukrainian SSR and Banderva. The restoration of the Ukrainian SSR is unrealistic, as well as the USSR in which it was created, so forget the concept of the Ukrainian state. There will be Little Russia, period.

True, in modern Ukraine they are trying to portray Leonid Bykov as a hidden Ukrainian nationalist and patriot. There are even propaganda posters and memes with his image. Sometimes Kovpak's name is also used in anti-Russian propaganda.

In general, even the GDP does not deny the existence of the Ukrainian state, though far from the borders that it got during the collapse of the USSR. Ukrainians want to have an independent and this is a fact. Russia, in principle, is not against it, but an independent one should be friendly or really neutral and not threatening us.

The ancient Jews had a Teacher, but about ...... And betrayed. As a result, after 33 years, the Jewish War began and everyone lost in it.

In 1991, Russians and Ukrainians betrayed everything that could be betrayed, and by 2024 it will have been 33 years. Will everything be taken away? We'll see..... But I wouldn't be surprised at all...

I don’t believe Kuchma (especially in the authorship of this book - it’s a no brainer that knowledgeable, “knowledgeable” or rather characters were engaged in this work, Danilych does not have any abilities for this, except for his addiction to the “green snake”), knowing some details activities of the "square" in the international arena in the early 90s, now all these sprouts began to appear from there !? At first, they spoiled us in Angola, interrupting the contract with the BTA for the supply of IL-76, reducing the rental price to a meager one, and then it started ... Yugoslavia, participation in UN peacekeeping missions, where they openly declared that they were our competitors in the supply of aviation equipment ....! How it all ended., they gouged / ruined all their planes with helicopters !!! Even now they don't even have a single factory (Antonov, Motor Sich ... - everything is chopped up with checkers) !!! Everything was destroyed and sold, including the conscience and memory of ancestors, SHAME!!!

Now Ukraine is a formal puppet of the United States. And knowing this, one should not be surprised at their "good-natured and grateful" attitude towards today's Russia. But if you dive into history and look into the origins, you can be convinced that Ukraine has long been permeated with the idea of nationalism and separatism in relation not only to Russia. But also all those who somehow owned these territories, not being ethnic Ukrainians.

What are you? How many of us have been rehabilitated under political articles, moreover, convicted on completely legal grounds. You do not interfere with politics and criminality. Under the amnesty, the criminal record stamp remains the same as due to this restriction. For Banderlog and the Balts, all restrictions were lifted, as well as the restoration of all rights and compensation to them ... so no, no, rehabilitation was just applied to them

Actually, Russian, or what? Does what is written in Russian get through? Apparently not. He is talking about Foma, you are talking about Yerema. What restrictions have been lifted? Why talk nonsense. When were traitors paid compensation? How can you inflame your imagination like that. A victim of the Unified State Exam. Rehabilitation, not rehabilitation.
