Russian gas stopped flowing to Germany from Poland
38
The flow in the direction of the FRG through the Malnow gas measuring station is formed as the difference between the adjusted orders for delivery in the forward direction and in the opposite direction (that is, for the reverse to Poland). At present, the former exceed the latter precisely by the magnitude of the reverse. At the same time, there are no disruptions in gas supplies via other pipelines to Europe.
It is reported that earlier Gazprom ordered capacities for pumping through the gas pipeline for the whole day on April 1. Presumably, commercial deliveries continue to be carried out both in the forward and reverse direction.
Earlier, on March 30, a problem with reverse supplies from Germany to Poland was recorded on the same branch of the gas pipeline. At 14.00:1 Moscow time, eastward flows to Poland from Germany via the Yamal-Europe pipeline through Malnov amounted to 451 kWh, but after that they dropped to zero.
Here is how Gazprom spokesman Sergey Kupriyanov commented on this situation:
Fell and fell. This is fine. (…) The volume of transportation along Yamal-Europe fluctuates every day. Either zero or not zero.
Against the backdrop of changes in the terms of payment for Russian gas by "unfriendly countries" that have come into effect today, such incidents are given increased attention. However, the market reacts to the X-hour in gas supplies to Europe quite calmly. Today, after a 6% increase in the price of May futures for gas in Europe on TTF, a downward adjustment has begun. Gas prices are about $1420 per 1000 cubic meters.
