Yours among strangers. The history of one ship

49

The idea to make a border patrol ship from a good project 1135 frigate was controversial, an overly powerful machine was obtained for the border guards, and too underarmed for the Navy in case of war. Judge for yourself:

Project 11351 "Nereus":

“In addition to the Osa-MA2 air defense system, they are armed with a rapid-fire 100-mm AK-100 gun mount, two 30-mm AK-630 anti-aircraft guns, two four-tube 533-mm torpedo tubes for firing 53-65K and SET-65 torpedoes, as well as two 12-barrel rocket launchers RBU-6000. In addition, the ships have equipment for setting minefields.

A total of 12 ships were planned, the lead ship entered service in 1982, and the seventh in 1990. Two in the Russian Federation are still serving, but the eighth and ninth, laid down on the territory of Ukraine, are frozen. With the ninth, which is in a low degree of readiness, they quickly decided - it was simply dismantled, but the eighth ...

In general, in 1991, when the newborn Ukraine was released from Napoleonic plans to build six submarines, complete the construction of the cruiser "Ukraine" and build a series of frigates, Kyiv thought about fleet. In the sense of the need for a fleet and its concept. Negotiations with the Russian Federation dragged on, it was necessary to focus on what is on the stocks. As a result, the ship, which at the laying was named "Kirov", turned into "Hetman Sahaidachny" and became the flagship of the Ukrainian Navy, being completed in 1993.

He was accompanied by the Slavutich control ship and two project 1124 MPKs, also slowly completed by Ukrainian factories. I must say, they took care of the ship, he and, perhaps, the Konstantin Olshansky large landing ship most often went to sea, showed the flag and personified the full power of the Ukrainian Navy.

Kirov-Sagaydachny made his first campaign in 1994 - to France. The following year it was shown at an exhibition in Abu Dhabi, on the way back it went to La Spezia and Varna. Regular service of the only ocean-going ship of a third-rate maritime country. The next year they repeated it, making a trip to the USA (Norfolk), Britain and Portugal. And again, a clean display of the flag, like any small maritime country.

It would be so good for Sagaidachny to go to different ports from time to time, showing the flag, but five years of active operation required repairs, which in those financial conditions was unprofitable for a poor country, and until 1999 the PSKR frigate stayed at the base. And after ocean activity subsided sharply - in 1999, the ship ran to Haifa. After that, he did not go further than the Black Sea until 2008, when, as part of Yushchenko's policy of rapprochement with NATO, he took part in exercises in the Mediterranean Sea.

By that time, it was already an elderly ship, requiring normal full-fledged repairs and modernization with re-equipment. There was no need to fight for fishing in the Pacific Ocean, for which it was conceived, and for the flagship, albeit tiny, but still the fleet was critical of the lack of a strike complex, which depreciated the ship itself. Nevertheless, under Yanukovych, it is being put in order, undergoing repairs in 2012 and preparing to fight Somali pirates.

Here it is necessary to make a lyrical digression - Yanukovych, who, as soon as they were not called these years, really began to create contract units, really began work on the construction of new frigates, and really tried to turn the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Navy into something combat-ready. In fact, ironically, it was Yanukovych's army that fought against the Donbass. And on September 24, 2013, the ship went on its last big trip to fight Somali pirates.

The operation ended on March 5, 2014, at the height of the Crimean spring, and part of the crew sincerely wanted to go to Sevastopol, but those who decided to remain in the Navy took over, and the ship went to Odessa, where it stood for three years, after which, in view of the extremely dead The state was sent for repairs, with plans to extend the service life until 2031. Repairs in the former center of world shipbuilding did not go on, and in 2021 the contract was re-signed, allocating 437 million hryvnias (about 1,1 billion rubles). Attempts to save the "Sagaydachny" are understandable - the only large ship in Ukraine and the only thing that could be brought further than the Eastern Mediterranean.

The repair was not weak, from the gas turbine plant to equipment and weapons, but it didn’t work out, and I think it couldn’t, not the capacities and the wrong means. But be that as it may, yesterday the ship was flooded, according to the statements of the Ukrainian side - in order to prevent the landing, from the point of view of logic - unless the enemy got it. Although Russia does not need it, just like the Crimean prisoners of 14 and other property of the Ukrainian Navy, which are outdated for a long time and tightly.

Technically, there are no problems to raise it, but why? Whatever happens next in this unfortunate land, a 30-year-old ship is not worth the cost of restoration. "Sagaydachny" died, along with him died the maritime ambitions of Ukraine. They died as they lived, stupidly and senselessly.

And the ship is a pity, born to patrol the Great Ocean, he lived his life as either a yacht or a flag demonstrator. And he died only because someone does not care about the future of his land.

Well, such a "heroic" crew, I would somehow understand if, in a battle with superior forces, I raised the pennant "I die, but do not give up" and opened the kingstones. and now the heroes. After all, even the older ships of the Black Sea Fleet, the same "Moscow" and "Inquisitive" still spend more time at sea than at the wall. After all, the fleet is not only iron, but well-trained and trained crews, and with this, Ukraine is always rather weak. In the mid-90s, Admiral I.V. Kasatonov, when dividing the fleet, dealt the main blow to Ukraine to those who did not receive a single full crew of the Ukrainian Navy, and the Black Sea Fleet's dregs that came did not create a fleet. And after 2014, it got even worse, although 12 admirals for 4 (according to other sources 7) warships remained, but the fleet then fights with ships, not admirals. Russia returned almost all the ships seized in 2014 to Ukraine because it was easier to give them back than to bring them to the standard state adopted by the Russian Navy, and the more expensive it is to dispose of them. As one of the officers of the Black Sea Fleet headquarters who visited these ships, if I may say so, told me, "I had to walk there among the shit on stilts, for the first time I see such strange ships." So such a "trophy" of the Russian Federation is not fucking needed, especially since they flooded with fear even before the capture of Nikolaev. What country - such a fleet, however, there is essentially no fleet (except for admirals).

You are right, but partially. The fleet for Russia still retained I.V. If these events happened, then there would be nothing to share. But they did not come true thanks to his tough and uncompromising position. I am Kasatonova I.V. I know a little, as a colleague in the Federation Council and as a classmate of my older brother in ChVVMU. In 3.01.92, M.P. Popov entered the rocket department at ChVVMU. (my older brother), Kasatonov I.V., Sergeev I.D. (future woman of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the only marshal of the Russian Federation), Mikhtyuk V.A. (the future commander of the 5.04.92rd RA, who handed it over to Ukraine). The last three graduated after 1956 years in 43 with diplomas of commanders (many went to the newly created Strategic Missile Forces), and my brother graduated a year later as an engineer. Kasatonov brought conscripts from the Russian Federation to the fleet on warships, in a short time fully staffed the main power component on the coast - the 4th Marine Brigade .. He immediately removed from office and seconded to the Navy officers and warrant officers who took the Ukrainian oath, and sailors with the Ukrainian oath transferred to military construction detachments with a mocking wording "to maintain combat readiness." He also hit Ukraine with a ruble, bringing in monetary allowances for the Black Sea Fleet from Novorossiysk. Yes, he failed to defend the units of the Black Sea Fleet in Ismail, Odessa, Nikolaev, there was even an escape to Odessa of the TFR (albeit with an incomplete crew), there were facts of taking the Ukrainian oath by part of the personnel, but there was also an immediate and harsh reaction. Remember the oath in the military commandant's office of Sevastopol, a short time after its fact, the Marines of the Black Sea Fleet kicked out Commandant Zverev and his sworn officers and their guards from the Navy. The same policy of Kasatonov was continued after his departure to the post of First Deputy of the Civil Code of the Navy, his followers Baltin E.D. and Kravchenko V.A. Judging by the memoirs of Kasatonov I.V. he was firmly supported by the GK Allied Forces of the CIS Shaposhnikov E.A. and the Civil Code of the Navy Chernavin V.A., President of the Russian Federation Yeltsin B.N. was unavailable and worked with documents in the country, and Chernomyrdin V.S. broke off Ukraine's appetite for the entire Black Sea Fleet. at the negotiations in Yalta on August 60, 810, announcing the amount of Ukrainian debts for gas and harshly demanding payment in money or shares in the Black Sea Fleet. But the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Morozov K. demanded the entire Black Sea Fleet, they also gave themselves to squeezing out 3.08.92 military districts, the VA and the RA, even parts of the central subordination, everything except the Black Sea Fleet. The transfer of part of the fleet was completed under Kravchenko, they received more than 3 pennants (ships, boats and auxiliary vessels). In addition, a number of ships of the USSR Navy and the MCHPV of the KGB of the USSR were in varying degrees of readiness at the Ukrainian shipyards, some of them were completed and even managed to ditch, including the Sagaidachny. In general, as a maritime power, Ukraine did not take place.

Such boats, in this condition, must be almost completely disassembled and reassembled again with the replacement of at least 50% of structures, components and equipment. And of course, do not forget about deep modernization, to an acceptable modern level.
It will be cheaper and easier to build two new 22350s.

Raising it is not a problem, especially since it is flooded at a shallow depth near the pier. But how many times have we discussed its wear and tear on this forum, and no one knows how critical the wear of the hull and mechanisms is, can it be easier to cut? I'm more concerned about the fate of the cruiser "Admiral of the Lobov fleet. "Although it stands for a long time, but it is not indifferent shipbuilders who maintain its structures in a more or less satisfactory condition. If these bastards do not drown him, then it will be possible to draw the attention of the Russian Navy to him. In the meantime, all attention to the operation. We can not discuss what is unknown?

With "Lobov" the problem is that to arm it according to original design, according to which it was not completed, there is nothing. At a minimum, you will have to change the "main caliber" - "Volcanoes", both air defense systems and most of the electronic equipment. That is, all the stuffing will have to be thrown away, after which the bare body will remain from the RRC, which will have to be cut and cooked - under 3C14, new UVP air defense systems and four PAR canvases.

The tender for repair and modernization was expectedly "won" by the plant, which had never dealt with such things before, but belonged to the then President Poroshenko. Although Russia does not need it, just like the Crimean prisoners of 14 and other property of the Ukrainian Navy, which are outdated for a long time and tightly.

    Not so simple. ©
If my sclerosis does not fail me, then the same "Albatrosses" of the Ukrainian Navy, inherited by us from the Crimea, were younger than their relatives in the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. Because Ukraine completed their construction after the collapse of the USSR.
By the way, with "Sagaydachny" the same story - the problem with him is not age, but the death of exploitation and the lack of normal repairs. Because the domestic "Nerei" has been in service even longer - since 1984 and 1986.

And what happened to those Crimean troughs that Ukraine never gave back (or didn’t take them itself) after 2014? Rotting in the sludge or cut?

Yes, sinking ships off the coast in case of military danger is an ancient tradition of the fleet ....

There are ships with a glorious biography, there are ships with a tragic biography, there are even vile ones. And this ship with a biography is ridiculous.

    My deep couch opinion.
territory 404 after the end of the Special Operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation should cease to exist within its former borders.
From the Kharkov, Dnieper, Zaporozhye, Donetsk and Lugansk regions, it is necessary to create the Republic of New Rus. this republic does not need a navy.
From Lvov, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk and other western regions (6 regions), create a "reservation", which is called Ukraine, on which to impose obligations and debts hanging before the operation. In addition, this reservation does not have the right to have an army and any foreign troops on its territory. this formation also does not need a fleet.
From the remaining regions, create the Republic of Kievan Rus, which will need naval units of the Border Troops.
With regards to the mentioned trough. You will have to raise it, because it takes up space at the pier. Raised, it must be sent for remelting. Together with everything that at least somehow reminds of the current territory of 404

The good fate of the ship, named after such a wolf as Sagaidachny.
    There and the road.

Everything comes from an inferiority complex. And now there won’t even be a coast guard, country 404 will lose Nikolaev and Odessa ... and access to the sea is yok. And if in 2014 they would not have climbed on the rampage and lived peacefully, how things would have turned out differently. But the Anglo-Saxons did not give the world a chance, even if not the kindest ...
