President of Belarus: For the first time in decades, we are on the verge of a conflict that can drag out the entire continent
Negotiations between the presidents of Russia and Belarus took place in Moscow. One of the topics that was touched upon during the conversation between Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko was the situation in Ukraine, the escalation in Donbas.
Alexander Lukashenko said that the situation in the Donbas is such that the evacuation of the population has already begun from there. We are talking about the elderly, women and children. Some time ago, the heads of the DPR and LPR made statements about mass centralized evacuation from the republics of Donbass.
President of Belarus:
According to the President of Belarus, the fraternal republics are doing their best to "tear them apart, separate them, sow enmity between them." But, as Alexander Lukashenko added, nothing will come of it.
Lukashenka added that neither Russians nor Belarusians need war today. However, there are forces that escalate the situation, use Ukraine as a kind of battering ram, as an antipode of the Union State of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
According to the Belarusian president, Western leaders today are “distinguished by their stupidity,” not understanding what such actions of confrontation can lead to.
The President of Belarus added that, judging by the behavior of a number of Western politicians and officials - people from the "free world" - they become dangerous not only for others, but also for their own peoples.
Earlier, the Belarusian president stated that Belarus would not stand aside if Ukraine tried to resolve the conflict in Donbas by force.
