Indonesia intends to purchase AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopters in the US
The Defense Cooperation and Security Agency (DSCA) of the US Department of Defense has notified Congress of the planned delivery of Indonesia as part of the Foreign Military Sales program of attack helicopters AH-64D Block 3 Apache Longbow.
With contractual equipment, parts and services, the total value of the contract could be 1,42 billion dollars.

The request also includes the supply of defendants of the “friend-foe” state identification system, 30-mm guns and ammunition, communications equipment, tools, test equipment, simulators, generators, spare parts and components, auxiliary equipment, technical documentation, personnel training and logistical support from the us government and contractor.
The Armed Forces of Indonesia intend to use Apache helicopters to deter external threats, control borders, combat terrorism and piracy, and ensure the safety of maritime communications in the Malacca Strait.
As noted in the DSCA notice, the sale of AH-64D helicopters will enhance the combat capabilities of the Indonesian Armed Forces and the ability to interact with the US Armed Forces.
The main contractors selected are Boeing, Lockheed Martin Corporation, General Electric, Longbow Limited Life Corporation.
