In the West, Su-34 front-line bombers were "discovered" at the Voronezh airfield "Baltimore"
The West continues to assert about the concentration of the 100-strong Russian group near the Ukrainian border. Another "evidence" of this was found on satellite images posted on Twitter.
The Russian Defense Ministry has deployed Su-34 front-line bombers to the Baltimore air base in Voronezh, according to Western experts who have studied satellite images. The air base is located just 180 km from the Ukrainian border, which allows Russian aircraft to strike not only at targets in the border zone, but also in the depths of Ukrainian territory. According to the pictures, there are currently between 22 and 24 strike aircraft at the base, which only confirms Moscow's aggressive plans.
It should be noted that Western information about the deployment of the Su-34 on the Baltimore was at least two months late, the front-line bombers returned to Voronezh in November last year, and by mid-December the entire 47th bomber aviation the regiment of the Leningrad Air Force and Air Defense Army of the Western Military District was relocated to Voronezh from Buturlinovka, where the bombers were deployed in 2013. In addition, not all aircraft were counted by Western analysts; in addition to the aircraft of the 47th air regiment, two training squadrons of the Zhukovsky and Gagarin Air Force Academy (VVA) should be based there.
The airfield "Baltimore" was reconstructed, during the work it received a new runway with a length of almost 4 meters and a width of 60 meters, capable of receiving all types of aircraft. Work on the construction of a new airfield infrastructure was carried out on an area of more than 220 thousand square meters. meters, but they are not finished yet, this year it is planned to build covered hangars for servicing aircraft.
As previously stated in the Ministry of Defense, the new runway "Baltimore" will allow the operation of the Su-34 with a full combat load, and front-line bombers will be able to control the south and west of Russia, including the Crimea, the Caucasus and the Black Sea.
