Seventieth Regiment "Normandy-Niemen"
14 September 2012 was held on Mont-de-Marsan to celebrate the 70 anniversary of the Normandie-Niemen regiment. The unit was created as part of the USSR Air Force 1 September 1942 of the year and made combat sorties during the Second World War on the Soviet-German front 5240, scoring 273 official air victories.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the regiment, one of the Dassault Rafale fighters of the F3 series, now in service with the Normandie-Niemen RC 2 / 30 (Rafale C aircraft with a tail number 118-IX), received a spectacular "anniversary" coloring with a big red star.

The flags of the three "historical" "squadrons" ("escadrilles" - actually links), now part of the modern RC 2 / 30 Normandie-Niemen - SPA 91, SPA 93 and SPA 97. The designation "SPA" indicates that during the First World War all three of these "escadrilles" flew SPAD fighters. 14.09.2012 (c) R. Sargnon / French Air Force

Fighter Dassault Rafale C F3 (118-IX) and a replica fighter Yak-3. This replica of the Yak-3 (designation Yak-3UA) with the engine Allison V-1710 (the aircraft has a serial number 470202, German registration D-FLAK) was built in 2004 year at JSC "PO" Arrow "in Orenburg and since that time belongs to the German (about irony!) of Meier Motors from Freiburg. The plane has been painting the Yak-3 from Normandie-Neman from the very beginning. 14.09.2012 (c) Philippe Chailet
