Over the past few years, special forces of the Russian army have been receiving, mastering and using in practice modern armored vehicles ASN-233115 "Tiger-M SpN". This machine was developed on the basis of existing designs and belongs to a well-known family. At the same time, the SPN project provides for some innovations designed to increase the overall efficiency of equipment and ensure the solution of special problems.

In 2010, the "Military Industrial Company" for the first time presented the "multipurpose vehicle" AMN-233114 or "Tiger-M". It was a modernized version of the serial "Tiger" with a number of innovations based on the experience of the first years of operation. The power plant, transmission and chassis have changed, the armored hull has been improved, etc.

In the future, "Tiger-M" passed all the necessary tests, according to the results of which it entered service with the Russian army and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In addition, this armored car began to be used in new projects of special equipment - as a carrier of various equipment or weapons. A number of communication vehicles, reconnaissance, etc. coped with the tests and was adopted.

One of the new Tiger-M modifications is the ASN-233115 "special purpose vehicle", also designated as "Tiger-M SpN". It was intended for special forces of the army or other structures and had some differences from the basic model. The project provided for the preservation of key components and assemblies, giving the necessary characteristics, and also proposed the re-equipment of habitable volumes, taking into account the requirements of the special forces.

In 2013, the Tigr-M SpN ​​passed a full cycle of tests and received a recommendation for adoption. Soon after that, VPK LLC and related enterprises mastered serial production, and in 2014 the army received the first batch of new armored cars. In the future, the Ministry of Defense regularly reported on the supply of ASN-233115 to the special forces of all military districts. To date, several dozen of these machines have been transferred to the army, which probably made it possible to re-equip at least most of the special forces.

Also published periodically news on the use of "Tigrov-M" in training events. For example, the other day it was reported about the use of such armored cars in the exercises of the special forces of the 49th combined-arms army of the Southern Military District. The armored cars delivered the special forces fighters to the specified area, where they helped to find and destroy the camp of the conditional enemy.

The multipurpose and special "Tigers-M" are present in the Rosoboronexport catalog and are available for ordering by foreign buyers. At the same time, export armored vehicles are offered in the form of protected platforms without a rigidly defined set of equipment and weapons. Such features of the complete set are determined by the customer.

Multipurpose platform

The AMN-233114 armored car was used as a base for the "Tiger-M SPN". The latter was carried out on the basis of the "Tiger" of the first version with the preservation of a number of basic solutions and with the replacement of key components and assemblies. Due to this, some of the tactical and technical characteristics remained at the same level, while others improved. In addition, we fixed the previously identified design flaws that made it difficult to operate.

One of the main innovations of the AMN-233114 project was the use of a 5347 hp YaMZ-10-11 / 215 diesel engine. The engine is turbocharged with an intercooler and can use different types of fuel. A new design of bridges has been developed, increasing the permeability on soils with weak bearing capacity. The braking system has been modernized.

"Tiger-M" has retained the old armored hull with bulletproof and anti-fragmentation protection. The engine compartment received an armored hood. The equipment of the habitable compartment has been updated. We improved the design of the doors, provided a filtering unit, an air conditioner, etc. The number of seats in the cabin has increased to nine.

At the request of the special forces

The ASN-233115 special-purpose vehicle is minimally different in design from the base Tiger-M, which simplifies the joint operation of different types of equipment. In addition, the maximum external similarity has been preserved, ensuring camouflage.

The main differences of the armored car "Tiger-M SPN" are in the design and equipment of the body. The armor remains the same and meets the 1st class of OTT 9.1.12.1 and STANAG 4569 standards. It provides protection against automatic bullets, light fragments and the explosion of 600 g TNT. Vitality and stability are also enhanced by bullet-resistant tires with explosion-proof inserts.

The habitable compartment, which retains climatic and other systems, accommodates six people, including the driver. In the central part of the cab there is a place for the shooter to work with weapons on the upper platform. Also, inside the armored car there is a place for transporting weapons, ammunition and the necessary equipment.

The armored car receives a new complex of various electronic devices. To simplify driving, a set of video cameras around the perimeter of the body is used. There is also a set of communication and control facilities that correspond to the tasks of special forces. Provision is made for the installation of its own jamming station to suppress radio channels for controlling explosive devices.

On the roof of the hull there is a new turntable with a double-leaf hatch and mounts for various weapons. It can carry machine guns of normal and large caliber and an automatic grenade launcher, incl. in various combinations. Installing and dismantling weapons is not particularly difficult. Thanks to this, the weapon can be used both on the platform and in a wearable form. Also on the roof of the armored car are four 902G "Tucha" grenade launchers.

The ASN-233115 armored car practically does not differ in dimensions from other versions of the Tiger-M. Gross weight reaches 7932 kg, carrying capacity - 1200 kg. Driving characteristics remained the same. The maximum speed on the highway reaches 120 km / h, the cruising range is 1000 km. The car is able to overcome various obstacles, incl. cross water obstacles along fords.

Wide range of tasks

The armored car "Tigr-M SpN" retains all the basic qualities of the basic model and at the same time has a number of new features. This allows it to be used in special forces to solve the widest range of tasks. Depending on current needs, it can perform the functions of other armored cars - transport personnel, protecting them from shelling and explosions, or accompany and cover convoys.

In addition, the "special purpose vehicle" can be used as a vehicle for conducting reconnaissance in the rear of the enemy, for delivering fighters to the place of special operations, as well as for fire and other support. In the context of operation in special forces, ASN-233115 is a flexible tool suitable for use in different situations and in different roles.

All the alleged capabilities of the Tigr-M SpN ​​armored car have already been tested and confirmed in the framework of various special forces exercises. This is demonstrated by various messages from the press service of the Ministry of Defense, arriving with enviable regularity. In addition, it can be assumed that such armored vehicles were used in real operations.

ASN-233115 has been in service with the army for several years, and it is regularly reported on the supply of new batches of such equipment. This means that in the course of testing and military operation, the armored vehicle showed itself from the best side and confirmed its compliance with the requirements and assigned tasks. In addition, obvious advantages were obtained associated with the unification of different types of technology.

Thus, within the framework of a successful family of armored vehicles, another sample was created with special functions and capabilities.
