After the talks between Putin and Biden, the question arose of possible mutual concessions between Moscow and Washington

13

After the talks between the presidents of Russia and the United States held last week, the question of the specifics of these talks, of possible concessions from Moscow and Washington, hung in the air. It is clear - Ukraine, it is clear - security. But the question is this: did Vladimir Putin promise something to Joseph Biden, and vice versa - did Biden promise anything to Putin?

We must proceed from the fact that these negotiations themselves began after Moscow indicated a tough position. Vladimir Putin noted that Moscow intends to seek from NATO legal guarantees of further non-expansion to the east and non-deployment of strike weapons near the borders of Russia. Otherwise, as stated by the President of Russia, the Russian Federation will not remain unanswered.

The United States was alerted by these words, and this is obvious. Otherwise, there would have been no Biden's interest in negotiations with his Russian counterpart. As a result, we talked. By video link, but still.

Considering that immediately after the conversation with Putin, Biden decided to suspend the sending of another $ 200 million worth of military aid to Ukraine, it can be assumed that agreements did take place.

Experts believe that Putin has indicated to Biden (once again) the Russian position - a tough response will be given when NATO moves to the borders of Russia. Biden showed an interest in dialogue, in a direct conversation, although an impressive "support group", including Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, was present with him in the office for remote negotiations.

Another possible agreement, a concession that can be pointed out: the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. The United States removed the item on sanctions against SP-2 from its draft military budget for next year. This suggests that gas through the SP-2 will definitely go next year, and the United States "will watch how after that Russia will behave towards Ukraine."

legal guarantees of further non-expansion to the east
There was also a non-aggression pact with Germany ...

In this case, there is no need to worry about historical parallels, there will hardly be a "pact" (guarantees). These negotiations are not the first or the last, the result is always approximately the same. Arms deliveries are both suspended and resumed, while the fact of the suspension can then be referred to as a gesture of goodwill before negotiations.

        "pact"

To break it - like two fingers on the asphalt! 41 years old is an example of this!

What does the pact have to do with these negotiations?

Dear author, your entire article and the conclusions of the experts (not clear ones) are just your wishes and nothing more. Once again, the presidents of the United States and Russia meet, almost embrace, agree on something, and after that, as before, new sanctions, new accusations, new threats and provocations are on the rise. Russia cannot in any way influence the deployment of NATO in Ukraine and even on the Moon. The train left in 2013.

Exactly. Everything is as usual ... he outlined ... gave a tough answer .... everything else around the pipe. And still Leontiev with his However. How many years has he broadcast and laid out on the shelves that the dollar will collapse a little more, he does not respect himself to believe.
And the author made his conclusions based on foreign media. They spread everything there, we have a secret sealed with seven seals. You can only guess.

I wonder if somebody told him that the United States and Russia have a common border. That NATO countries have a common border with Russia. And the Kaliningrad region is actually surrounded by NATO countries.

... when NATO moves to the borders of Russia, it will be given hard answer

How much hard? And most importantly, how will the United States feel this?))

“The United States was alerted by these words, and this is obvious. Otherwise, there would have been no Biden's interest in negotiations with his Russian counterpart. "

    Right there - alerted!
Both have declining ratings within their respective countries. And both need PR to raise their ratings. Biden especially needs it. So he went to negotiations.
Why not talk then? And then he will hand over the affairs to the new president
and hello to all negotiations and conversations.

    Like in the song:
People meet, people fall in love, get married
I'm unlucky in this so it's just a disaster
Finally last night I met a girl
Where the trains are buzzing alarmingly, knocking
    She entered her carriage
    Smiled from the window
The train moved, and I followed
He just waved his hand back to her ... smile

What if ... Nice diplomatic move. "NATO's advance to the East is the main idea." "Russia regards the activities of NATO and the United States on the territory of Ukraine as part of this process." Truncated. You can’t trade the Outskirts separately)) And why did the SP-2 "light up"? And that was the US-driven trade agenda. They brought the right person to power in Germany and now they are sure that the “greens” will cope with the inhibition there themselves. In addition, in their opinion, they very "competently" linked the SP-2 and the situation in the outskirts. Therefore, it is possible to "offer" a gas pipeline. But the proposed "unification" policy is unexpected. I had to “part” with the gas pipeline and portray a “victory on the Ukrainian front”. But in exchange? And in return: "Let's consult and think about what to do."
Could it look like this? Could it be that in spite of the rhetoric and the specific information pile, the agenda of the negotiations turned out to be "empty" and unnecessary. And in order to maintain at least some kind of parity, you had to "give up" what was supposed to "foist" on and wait for a new turn of diplomatic samsara? What did the United States do? Nothing in the visible spectrum. Because "stopped aggression" is a "self-made victory". Have we "given away" something in the invisible spectrum? Better not to guess. Better to wait.

"Vladimir Putin noted that Moscow intends to seek legal guarantees from NATO for further non-expansion to the east and non-deployment of strike weapons near the borders of Russia."
Something late, Putin realized himself. Finally it came, when, apart from Georgia and Ukraine, NATO had already seized everything and their bases were stuck. He demanded some guarantees. We at school, which it takes a long time to reach, called them differently. I understand when the United States should concede something to Russia, but what should Russia concede? And so, everything belongs to the United States. All that remains is the land-territory and the Russian people who do not want to die.
