American experts assess the potential of the Ukrainian air defense system
The United States does not exclude the supply of air defense systems to Ukraine, but only after studying the air defense system of Ukraine. American specialists have already visited Kiev.
The United States sent experts to Ukraine to study and assess the potential of the existing air defense system left over from the Soviet Union. This was caused by the latest requests from Kiev, which complained about the complete absence of anti-aircraft systems. The Ukrainian petitioners, on whose behalf the new Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov spoke, did not forget to remind the Americans of the "Russian threat".
As reported, American experts on the assessment of US air defense systems last week visited units and subdivisions of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where they were shown what is in service with the Ukrainian army and how it is planned to be used in the event of hostilities. It is not reported what conclusion the experts have come to, but so far Washington has not made any statements on this matter, except for general political statements about "support" and so on.
Against this background, Ukrainian military "experts" began disputes about the likely supply of anti-aircraft systems. Some argue that the United States will supply Ukraine "almost for nothing" with Patriot air defense systems or other complexes of a similar class. It is alleged that American senators are in favor of this. Others, on the contrary, say that there is also the White House, which does not want to irritate Putin, therefore, if Ukraine gets anything, it is most likely portable anti-aircraft systems. No one will give Kiev any air defense systems, especially "for free", but there is no money to "buy".
However, in Kiev, they continue to hope for the best, declaring the danger posed by the Russian aviation... And then, as luck would have it, Belarus also opened its airspace for Russian aircraft. As they say in Kiev, the danger of a missile strike on the most important infrastructure "has increased many times."
