ADS: submachine gun for shooting in the air and under water
6
About eight years ago, a model of small arms was adopted in service in Russia. weapons... It is capable of acting in a variety of environments. We are talking about an ADS machine, the decoding of the name of which speaks for itself: a two-medium special machine.
The manufacturer of such automatic weapons is the Shipunov KBP. The assault rifle allows firing both in the air and under water. To defeat underwater targets, special ammunition is used - PSP or PSP-U with bullet stabilization due to the presence of a flat head. When the bullet exits the barrel and during its further movement, a cavity is created in the water column. Usually such a cavity is called a cavitation cavity. PSP-U differs in that its bullet is made of a bronze base and has a shorter range of use.
The ADS is most effective when shooting at shallow depths. When the shooter dives to a depth of 5 m, he, with the help of ADS, can hit a target located at a distance of up to 25-30 m. An increase in the immersion depth affects the firing range - it decreases.
ADS is equipped with a grenade launcher.
Such machines are relevant for use by combat swimmers, including for the protection of military bases. With the help of ADS, it is possible to carry out the elimination of underwater saboteurs with high efficiency.
