In the US press: During his visit to Moscow, the CIA Director raised the issue of "the inadmissibility of acoustic impact on American diplomats."
The American press, citing sources in the special services, writes about one of the goals of the visit of the head of the CIA, William Burns, to Moscow. Let us remind you that this visit took place several weeks ago. Then Burns met with the director of the FSB, as well as with the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service.
According to the reporters of the Washington Post, one of the topics raised by the director of the Central Intelligence Agency during his trip to Moscow was the topic of the so-called "Havana syndrome." We are talking about complaints of American diplomats who worked in the US embassies in Cuba and a number of other countries about headaches and general ill health. Then it was announced in Washington that the diplomats were subjected to some kind of "acoustic influence." After some time, the United States announced the alleged involvement of Russia in this influence.
The American press writes that Burns told the heads of the Russian special services about "the inadmissibility of the influence on American diplomats and family members, which brings them physical suffering, affecting the brain." According to the director of the CIA, "this goes beyond the acceptable behavior of the intelligence services."
At the same time, the US press writes that Burns himself did not directly accuse Moscow that it was she who was arranging "acoustic attacks" on American diplomats.
In WP:
Earlier, materials appeared in the US press stating that a number of diplomats and intelligence officers "refuse to work in Havana, Belgrade and some other capitals, as they become victims of acoustic exposure there."
Russia has not officially commented on the topic of the "Havana syndrome" raised by Burns. Earlier it was reported about the restoration of contacts between Russia and the United States through the special services on the subject of countering cybercrime, which was discussed during the visit of the CIA director to the Russian capital.
