An incident at the Rivne nuclear power plant in Ukraine is reported
Reports of an incident at the Rivne (Rivne) NPP are coming from the territory of Ukraine. According to the latest data, a hydrogen pipeline was depressurized at one of the four nuclear power plants in Ukraine. The emergency situation with the pipeline manifested itself in the area adjacent to power unit No. 3.
The reports of the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine contain information that this power unit is currently undergoing so-called preventive maintenance.
From the report:
It is reported that, according to the regulations, the hydrogen supply was urgently shut off.
If you believe the reports of the State Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine, then as a result of the incident there are no victims or injured.
From the service post:
For reference: Rivne NPP was commissioned in the Ukrainian SSR in 1980. At the moment, the station consists of 4 power units. These are 2 units based on VVER-440 reactors and two more on the basis of VVER-1000.
Since 2019, this is at least the 5th emergency at the Rivne NPP. Moreover, all these emergencies are associated with the 3rd power unit. For example, in April 2019, the unloading of power unit No. 3 took place due to the shutdown of the main circulation pump.
