From Syria, there are reports of unsuccessful patrols for the United States in the northeast of the country. It is reported that a convoy of American armored vehicles tried to advance to the area of the city of Al-Qamishli in the province of Haseke. The city is located just a few kilometers from the Syrian-Turkish border.
According to the latest reports, Syrian soldiers appeared in front of the American column, blocking the path of the Americans. An officer of the Syrian government army approached the lead vehicle of the American patrol. Armed servicemen began to leave the armored vehicles of the American column. The Syrian officer announced that the American military convoy would not be able to move further, and demanded to turn around.
Raised talks continued for several minutes. The Americans tried to announce that they would keep moving. At that moment, according to some sources, an army aviation... At the same time, it is not reported whether it belonged to Syria or not, but it is known for sure that it was not American.
As a result of the "negotiations", the American servicemen again got into the armored vehicles and, turning around, followed in the opposite direction. According to some reports, the incident occurred in the area of the intersection of two highways: highway 7 and the M4 road in the area of the Demhiya Mezin settlement south of Qamishli. These are areas where the Kurdish population predominantly resides.
At the moment, the Pentagon does not comment on the fact that the Syrian military forced the American convoy to deploy in the northeast of the country.
Recall that the US contingent in the SAR is without a corresponding mandate from the UN Security Council and without an invitation from the country's legitimate authorities.
