TsNIITochmash began mass production of a complex for the protection of armored vehicles from high-precision weapons
TsNIITOCHMASH began mass production of unified systems of protection against high-precision weapons... According to the press service of Rostec, the new complex is designed to protect the latest military equipment, which has just begun to enter the troops.
The new unified complex will be installed on the TOS-2 Tosochka heavy flamethrower system, the PRP-5 mobile reconnaissance station based on the BTR-82 armored personnel carrier, as well as the Zavet-D automated artillery control complex, developed specifically for the landing on the basis of the BTR-MDM "Shell".
- said in a statement.
As explained in Rostec, the new complex is able to protect equipment from high-precision weapons with laser, optical, thermal and radar guidance, or rather, anti-tank missiles and high-precision aviation means of destruction.
Earlier, TsNIITochmash reported on the development of a new protection complex based on the principle of optical-electronic suppression of targeting systems for attacking guided munitions. An aerosol munition fired towards the attacking target of an anti-tank guided missile, using a block of cassettes with an aerosol-forming filling, forms a cloud of interference in the visible, infrared and radio frequency ranges, thereby knocking the missile off the target. The complex was at the testing stage.
