Taliban start reconstruction of Salang pass tunnel

Representatives of the new Afghan government have allocated funds for the reconstruction of the Salang tunnel, which connects the northern and southern parts of the country. Let us recall that the representatives of the Taliban movement (* a terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation) constitute the core of the current Afghan government.

For the reconstruction of the tunnel on the Salang pass, 53 million afghanis (about 650 thousand US dollars) were allocated from the Afghan treasury.

Heavy construction equipment was brought up to the pass, including bulldozers, excavators and heavy-duty trucks.

According to the deputy head of the new Afghan Ministry of Finance, who launched the reconstruction of the Salang tunnel, this is the first part of a large-scale project, which includes the construction of a full-fledged highway through Salang. In connection with the start of work, representatives of the Taliban government * cut the ribbon. According to them, the reconstruction of the tunnel will be completed by November this year - in order to be in time before the onset of winter cold.

At present, the access roads to the Salang pass are being cleared. They (and the tunnel itself) suffered during the recently ended hostilities.

Recall that until recently Salang was held under their control by representatives of the militia of Ahmad Massoud. But the control was short-lived. Taliban units drove Masud's troops from a key pass, after which the militia accused the Taliban of using military aid from Pakistan. Participants in the fighting said that Pakistani special forces were acting against them on the side of the Taliban *. In Islamabad, these statements were called fake.

It's time to collect stones. This is the beginning of building the New Silk Road, which has been blocked by the United States for many years and clearly by the PRC and the Russian Federation in this matter, as well as Pakistan. Just a couple of days ago, the special representatives of these countries gathered and the Taliban noted the important role of all three, and Russia was noted first. Here, and therefore, Erdogan's cuckoo was blown away, he hoped that Pan-Turkism would flourish in Afghanistan, take Dostum and the paths would go to Turkey, but no. Everything will go through the Russian Federation, through the north of the Caspian Sea.

It looks ironic, but in 1997 tunnel built by Soviet specialists in 1964 , was blown up by Northern Alliance forces , in order to prevent the Taliban from advancing to the North of the country ...

You certainly won't hire submachine gunners-overseers for a cake. Instead of going on strike, they will quickly shoot effective managers. So it is much cheaper to pay workers normally than to stimulate workers with armed overseers. The simplest example from the history of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, as soon as Khrushchev abolished the allowances for employees of the organs, the USSR immediately overtook the United States in space and nuclear research, in Russia people stopped dying of hunger en masse, and began to catch up with European countries in electronics. As soon as the KGB officers rose to power again, a new degradation of the country began.

The total length of the tunnel was 2,7 km, with an approach gallery in the southern section - 3,6 km, about 12 km of galleries were erected in especially avalanche-prone sections.

Therefore, now the restoration of motor traffic along the pass is really of priority importance (including, in particular, in terms of the supply of food and building materials). This would be the first concern of not only the Taliban, but in general any other leadership of the country.

the Taliban directly learned from Victoria Nuland to arrange a show and flash mobs

In my opinion, you fundamentally do not understand the Taliban. And in general, judging by all the comments lately, very few people here understand the essence of their new regime, unfortunately.

These are not politicians-showmen we are accustomed to, they are a kind of "national-patriots" (and even in their worst manifestation, completely obscurantist and radical). In general, something like the Iranian regime, only much more "wild and uncouth", if it's rude.

This is definitely bad in our time, in the 21st century. But specifically for Afghanistan, with all its wild backwardness - for now, specifically at this moment, this is at least some chance to calm everyone down and at least somehow move on to attempts to create instead of destruction.
Therefore, any actions they take are really "serious", they will not do anything "for the sake of the show", everything is only out of convictions.

This does not mean, of course, that I am "for the Taliban." These savages are no less disgusting and disgusting to me than to you. But trying to come from real state of affairs - while they are at least some chance for the country for peace (simply for lack of other chances). You are completely in vain trying to convince me that the Taliban are savages - I know this obvious fact myself, I completely agree with it (and even wrote about it in the last commentary).

              It's about something completely different.
That specifically today these savages are almost the only chance to stop the war. We need to start with this at least. And only then try to somehow "educate" both the Taliban and the population.

Otherwise, absolutely any attempts at military force will end in exactly the same way as with us and with the Americans - it is impossible to fight with all the people if they do not want enlightenment themselves. But here on really acting the government can already be influenced much more effectively (by bargaining, promises, threats, whatever).

The "terrorist organization" was engaged in the reconstruction and restoration of the tunnel ... Remind me, but in general, at least once there were articles "American troops (administration) engaged in the reconstruction / restoration of at least something outside the mattress? These miscarriages have created anything. besides wars and chaos?
