Belarusian military tested a light grenade launcher "Sapphire"

59

At the 227th Borisov combined-arms training ground, the Belarusian military tested a lightweight multipurpose grenade launcher of domestic production. This took place in the presence of Dmitry Pantus, head of the State Military-Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

This message was published by the press service of this state structure.

The test consisted of firing at a two-by-two-meter catcher target. The distance from it to the grenade launcher was 133 meters. A transport and launch container with a grenade inside was installed on a tripod from an SPG-9 anti-tank grenade launcher. For this, a bracket of a special design was used. The shooter aimed using mechanical guidance.

The shooting was recorded on video, which was analyzed after each shot. During the analysis, the external ballistics of the grenade, the operation of the jet engine, as well as the reaction of the machine and the container were checked.

The tests allegedly showed the correctness of all the technical solutions applied by the developers. This means that product development is close to completion.

The multipurpose grenade launcher complex "Sapphire" of 60 mm caliber and weighing 4 kilograms is a light rocket launcher with an unguided grenade. It is designed to combat modern mainstream combat tanks, armored and unarmored targets, as well as to defeat enemy personnel located in bunkers, bunkers, light shelters and various structures.

Interestingly Yes , what did the Belarusian brothers do, shoving into the dimensions of the RPG-18, a grenade capable of hitting modern MBT?

A light grenade launcher is unlikely to take on a modern tank, but you need something heavier, for example the Mixture grenade launcher undergoing state tests.

A new "pocket artillery" has been developed for the Russian infantry. The Smes universal grenade-and-flame thrower complex, developed for the third-generation domestic combat equipment Sotnik, is already being tested. In terms of its power, a disposable grenade launcher will not be inferior to a howitzer projectile, and its modern sight will make it possible to destroy enemy tanks and shelters at night as easily as during the day. The emergence of such weapons will provide soldiers with superiority in urban combat, experts say.

      https://iz.ru/1048923/anton-lavrov-roman-kretcul/gremuchaia-smes-novyi-shturmovoi-granatometnyi-kompleks-vykhodit-na-ispytaniia

In Russia, the development of the newest assault grenade launcher complex 6S20 "Mix" is nearing completion, sources in the military-industrial complex told Izvestia. A trial batch of his thermobaric grenades of a volumetric explosion is being made for state tests.

According to the documents on the development schedule (available to Izvestia), the end of state tests is scheduled for the fall of 2021. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that the Mixture is being developed taking into account the combat experience gained in modern conflicts. The 6S20 will include both an anti-tank grenade and an assault grenade with thermobaric charges of a volumetric explosion. These are especially effective for warfare in urban areas.

... The exact technical characteristics of the new complex were not disclosed. It is known that the grenades will have a caliber of 72,5 mm - the standard for Russian grenade launchers. At the same time, due to the use of the latest technologies, it is promised to increase the power of the thermobaric warhead. The anti-tank version will receive a tandem warhead capable of dealing with modern reactive armor.

All the same, they cannot do like Basalt ... To increase the range and accuracy, ours have an insert-pipe, which flies out during the flight of a grenade, thereby increasing the length of the launch tube and, accordingly, performance characteristics. And here, with such a small size, it just flies out, it's a mess. The Belarusians could not comply with the rules of the grenade launcher. The only thing that is interesting is the ability to quadruple it, so that the launcher would be 2-3-4 shots. Like to cover with a couple of pieces without rearranging the sight.

And this is our analogue of the BUR. In the photo there is a larger grenade launcher, but a similar extension liner is visible, plus the engine anti-mass is fired from behind.
That allows firstly to increase the accuracy (does not pull the grenade launcher like RPG-7 forward)
Secondly, it reduces the flame of the shot from behind, which allows you to safely shoot from indoors.
As already said, the Belarusian has only 2 relative pluses. This is the ability to hold up to 4 grenade launchers, which is convenient when shooting at scattered infantry and when using small robots.
And the fact that they decided not to save and launchers are placed on each grenade launcher, and we have a special launcher separately (in the form of a pistol grip).
What is more economical, and not that much slower (there is a spring-loaded piston in front and when you shoot you press the button and it throws an empty shot pipe
