Zelensky calls on NATO to increase the number of alliance ships in the Black Sea

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on NATO to increase its military presence in the Black Sea region to "increase the level of security." He stated this at a meeting in New York with the secretary general of the alliance Jens Stoltenberg, according to the official website of the President of Ukraine.
According to Zelensky, security in the Black Sea requires more NATO ships, as well as the interaction of the countries of the Black Sea region. Therefore, Kiev would like to strengthen the presence of the fleets that make up the alliance. In addition, the Ukrainian president reminded Stoltenberg that Ukraine is actively participating in all NATO exercises and is ready to increase them.
Zelensky did not forget to tell the NATO Secretary General that Ukraine has almost completed the formation of a "new security system" based on "NATO standards."
Our commitment to NATO membership, the principles and standards of the alliance underpin all national security and defense guidance documents.
- he stressed, adding that Kiev would like more specifics on the country's entry into NATO.
Judging by the official statement of the Ukrainian president's office, which lacks at least some information about Stoltenberg's response, the NATO Secretary General once again got off with general phrases "about supporting Ukraine on the way to NATO," and so on.
