Europe and Russia: peeping at peepers
The West dumped its bucket of opinions about elections into our swamp. Naturally, for how without it? The only question is how is it all about the color and smell.
Probably, it is worth starting with the fact that honestly admit that I ignored the elections. Well, it's not interesting to be a participant in a ridiculous show with a logical outcome. I appreciated with pleasure the arrogance and impudence of the chairmen of the commissions all over the country, got an incredible pleasure from the comments of Mrs. Pamfilova, her “I don't see anything, I don't hear anything, everything is going according to plan” is worthy of applause and stuff like that.
In general, it is dull, uninteresting and predictable.
But the same cannot be said about the world reaction. The world reaction has more than once made my eyes bulge and express myself not very (yes, very much even there) censorship.
And now we will talk about the world reaction.
The global reaction is, shall we say, a little negative. Some countries spoke out harshly, some frankly did not care.
Of course, the advocates of full and undiluted democracy noted that no one from the so-called “non-parliamentary opposition” was allowed before the elections. Sobol, Yashin, Grudinin - well, the Kremlin is very afraid of the results that they could show. And God forbid - to win. Therefore, the Kremlin decided to disgrace themselves, but exclude the very possibility of the appearance of real oppositionists on the political arena.
To me personally, all this fuss with "foreign agents" and the removal of non-systematic ones from the political arena is ridiculous. And in Europe they look at it through the prism of democracy, and therefore they are very worried. And some are completely scared. Just in case.
“These elections were not fair, free or equal. This is just an attempt by Putin's authoritarian regime to give itself a democratic look. But they have nothing to do with democratic elections, taking into account both falsifications and manipulations and pressure on opposition forces. "
This is Dietmar Köster, German, MEP, expert on Russia. Social Democrat.
“We can talk about real elections only when there is a chance for the formation of a new majority in parliament. But the United Russia party is winning ... I don't even know since when. This is also a definite indicator "Koester adds.
An old song: falsifications, manipulations, illegitimate elections ... Everything is so familiar. A few more quotes:
“These elections took place in an atmosphere of intimidation by critical and independent voices and without international observation, which is trustworthy. I'm sorry, but the Russian authorities decided to limit the number of observers of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), citing the threat of coronavirus. And without full-fledged international observation it is very difficult to see exactly how the elections were held ”.
This is already the EU official representative for foreign policy Peter Stano.
Mr. Representative also pointed to reports of numerous violations. However, he kept silent that the organization he represents refused to send observers to the elections in Russia at all.
In general, let's be serious: there are 96 polling stations in Russia. How many observers could have come from Europe? Three or four hundred? And what could they see there? Never mind. On such a meager number of sites, it was easy to organize everything so that the mosquito would not undermine the nose. No noise and dust, as they say.
So yes, Mr. Stano could not have sent anyone and without restrictions from the Russian authorities. Just declare after the fact that "everything is bad", which, in fact, he did.
By the way, is it okay that a record number of observers - less than fifty - were admitted to the presidential elections in the United States? How about the riots, the storming of the Capitol by Trump supporters? Is everything so legitimate and legal?
By the way, but in Russia, where no one went from the OSCE, there were about 250 observers from other countries.
And, according to Trump, a little more people voted than live in the United States. Is that okay too?
Well, the elections in Russia were not fair. And when were the elections fair? Here it is worth looking at the attacks Trump and Biden exchanged. And give yourself an answer to this question.
If we talk about fair elections and the absence of pressure, one can, of course, remember Ukraine. When neither the presence of the state apparatus, nor money, nor connections - nothing helped Petro Poroshenko.
And here we can easily remember “those” elections in Kiev, in the winter of 2014. And who and how they chose there.
But we have a completely different case. We just elected deputies. It is clear that these warm and comfortable chairs were filled with people wishing to live beautifully for the good of the country from all over the world. And it is clear that the armchairs are so warm that the United Russia members did not want to give them up to anyone. And they did not concede. Except that I had to make room.
However, the question arises: what does Europe care about the mess that is going on in Russia? Moreover, there is no chaos in Russia. One political and financial group has seized power and is not going to give it to anyone. For authoritarian countries, this is quite normal.
But, pay attention, no one in our squares lit, as in Kiev, did not crowd into the Capitol, as in Washington, did not organize pogroms, as it was all over France.
Silence and grace.
And here is such a nuance, which is worse: a democratic sublime pogrom or a quiet and peaceful planting and gagging of the dissatisfied?
Where is there more humanity, in the free and democratically correct storming of the Capitol, where four people died, the democratic and free Maidan coup in Kiev, where hundreds died, or Russia, where Navalny alone suffered? And even then, not to death.
It turns out interesting: the death of people in the West in the name of democracy is right. If there were no murders in Russia, it is disgusting.
Interestingly, death as a sign of legitimacy ... This seems to have "sailed". It's good that we are not, but there, in the West.
And so, our wrong elections do not want to be recognized as legitimate.
Actually, what does it matter there, in Europe, before our elections? And, most importantly, what's next? A break up? Overlapping borders? Blockade?
It's nothing.
The same buddy Koester:
“Since the elections were not democratic, the new convocation of the State Duma will not have democratic legitimacy. But this should not become an obstacle to dialogue with Russia. I still consider it important to talk with the new Duma deputies, even if they are deprived of democratic legitimacy ... I am a supporter of a new policy of detente. We must look for a way out of the new Cold War ongoing with Russia. But Russia is also obliged to look for a way out. "
Looking for a way out from where? From Europe? So we are already kind of like one foot is not there. Although it looks more like both are not there, and the door has been slammed. And the Europeans peep through the keyhole, how is it wrong with us.
And, as you know, the seeker will find. They will find, they will not go anywhere. Because I really want to find it. I think that by the time Putin's presidential elections in 2024 will be found a fourth person involved in the Skripals case. And the third who blew up the warehouses. They will find a lot of interesting things, because the presidential elections are not for you in the Duma. Duma, let's say - a rehearsal before the main concert. Warm up.
So all these shouts from European councils and organizations, from the Baltic states, Poland, Ukraine - these are all trifles. Moreover, expected and predictable. Everyone can be criticized. Except for Ukraine. Here, excuse me, whose wave would broadcast, and the Ukrainian would be silent.
We should also take Mr. Erdogan separately. In general, all our heroes of labor from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs need to be minted and given out a separate order. With Erdogan's profile, as a reward for a job well done with Turkey.
Because the further, the more the whole story Russian-Turkish relations are somehow becoming more like paying tribute to the Turkish sultan. On you, dear Recep, the gas pipeline! On you, Tayyip-bey, S-400! We exchange your tomatoes for our tourists, efendim! Do not deny yourself anything, dear!
Indeed, dear Erdogan turns out. They appease him, appease him, and he turns his face back. Like Gulchatay in the film. Crimea is not legitimate, elections are not legitimate ...
Yes, these are Erdogan tomatoes are not legitimate. They stink with blood.
Of course, it's a shame for the state. But since 2015, it became clear to smart people that an ally from Erdogan is about the same as Yusuf Pasha, Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov, could become.
However, the successes of our foreign policy are a separate topic for conversation.
Speaking of the elections, it is worth noting that no matter how our gentlemen, the deputies are elected, is our personal internal affair. And no one, except the Russians, has any right to discuss the ongoing internal affairs in Russia.
There will be presidential elections - at least get hoarse from criticism. Let's listen. The outcome of the elections today is not at all interesting to everyone who understands, but listening to what is being sung from the other side will be funny.
Interestingly, they will also declare not legitimate?
