Unclassified Dossier: Another Round of American Disinformation
Fakes as a norm of life
The constant nervous information background around Russia provokes journalists and politicians to outright lies. Freedom of speech, which the West is so proud of, makes grimaces in this situation, after which you less believe in traditional democratic values. The free press, responding to the obvious request of the government and the expectations of the readers, sinks to a real lie. The typical model “the market demands - the manufacturer provides” teaches the sane to a total distrust of news... What Russia was not accused of. At one time, out of many lies, they made a top list of the most "shameful" fake news. The list includes news of attempts to hack into Vermont's power grid and plunge several million Americans into chaos. CNN talked about the connections of the close Trump Scaramucci with the ruling circles of Russia. It is fair to say that the authors stories they were later dismissed in disgrace, but the resonance and sediment remained with the audience. Trump in the information space generally got serious - he was "caught" in the construction of Trump Tower in Moscow, and in the connections of his people with Julian Assange (of course, with the supervision from Russia), and in the presence of a special server for direct communication with the Kremlin. The epics with the notorious "Novichok" and his victims became aerobatics in the information war against the Russian leadership.
Trump left, Novichok remained, as did the attacks on Russia, which, naturally, did not go away. Now no one in the United States in their right mind would have the idea to accuse the Biden administration of having ties with Moscow, so they have to switch to new stories. The recipe is quite simple - we are looking for a problem situation in the world and attach the "Russian trace" to it. The moral, by the way, is very similar to the ideology of the internal non-systemic opposition, according to which any problem in Russia is connected exclusively with the personality of Vladimir Putin. The paint on the entrance door peeled off or the heating was delayed for a couple of days - the obvious fault of the President of the country. As you can see, the psychology of perception of fake stories in Russia and in the West is not fundamentally different.
If we follow the logic of the creators of the anti-Russian fakes, then the greatest effect will be from events taking place at arm's length. Who else is interested in the protection of the Venezuelan authorities by the Russian special services? Hot news from Europe is much more interesting.
Russia - rule the world!
The notorious "Russian trace" is now fashionable to find in any incomprehensible situation. For example, Catalan separatists in 2017, it turns out, got in touch with Moscow. Former head of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont, the Kremlin allegedly promised up to 10 thousand soldiers. The source is very verified - a judge from Barcelona, Mr. Aguirre, who is investigating the financing of the Catalan separatists. This, we will not be afraid of this word, an epic fake came from the pen of the journalists of the El Periodico edition. Then came a real phantasmagoria - Russia was preparing to make a personal Switzerland out of Catalonia, and pay off the region's debts with cryptocurrency. According to the publication, only Puigdemont's refusal saved Spain from a bloody conflict. The leader of the Catalan liberation, by the way, is now hiding from the Spanish justice in Belgium. Why the leadership of this country is not accused of interfering in the internal affairs of Madrid is not clear.
There are not many territorial conflicts in Europe, so the masters of fake creation have to use old cases. So the New York Times tabloid recently took up the baton of El Periodico, pedaling the story of the Catalan uprising. This time, the events of 2019 are described and they are associated with the trip of the adviser of the aforementioned Puigdemont and Professor Josep Lewis Alai to Moscow. The Spaniard has indeed been to the Russian capital, but has not achieved anything significant there. The very speculations about potential contacts between the Kremlin and the Catalan emissary are based on secret documents from the investigation. Did the New York Times provide photocopies of these artifacts? Nothing of the kind - the tabloid invites readers to take their word for it.
Reception with "exclusive materials" is found more and more often in foreign studies. Opponents of the Kremlin hint at an extensive network of spies in the very heart of Russia, supplying classified information with enviable regularity. Now the British The Times describes the story of the Russian businessman Vladislav Klyushin, who fell under the hood of the CIA. The Americans convinced the Swiss authorities, in which Klyushin ended up, that he is a real scoundrel and deserves arrest. As a result, the Russian was arrested in March 2021, the Americans rub their hands in the hope of extradition, but the process suddenly stalled. It's all about the rules that Berne adheres to, and does not extradite people accused for political reasons. And the United States has just a completely political motive - interference in the US presidential elections and breaking into the headquarters of the Democratic Party. According to the United States Department of Justice, Vladislav Klyushin has a long history of monitoring media and social networks in the interests of the Kremlin. And he allegedly used his skills to influence the expression of the will of ordinary Americans in the last elections. This story already smells badly of another provocation of Washington, so they put another fake on top. To bypass the uncompromising Swiss, the British The Times publishes a duck about Klushin as a world-class industrial spy. And this is already a criminal article, and the Swiss judicial authorities can formally extradite a Russian to the Americans for reprisals. Unfortunately, the technique is as old as the world - you don't want to pass it in an amicable way, you will be in a bad way. Only the nature of the accusations can serve as a weak consolation to Klyushin. Washington could hang harassment coupled with pedophilia. At the moment, the Russian is in Switzerland, where the question of his future fate is being decided. In the most negative scenario of the development of history, there is no doubt that the American "Themis" will squeeze confessions out of Klyushin for anything.
Anonymous - to believe!
The European political confrontation with Russia is being built according to the strict patterns of overseas mentors. In the Netherlands, hearings continue in the case of the downed Boeing flight MH17, which have become a parody of the trial. To attract the attention of the world community to the case, lawyers have allowed themselves a lot. For example, to summon anonymous witnesses to the hearing with guarantees of protection at the highest level. The Dutch openly admit that they use techniques prohibited in normal jurisprudence - illegal entry, hacking of accounts and even websites of state bodies. The logic is simple again - what is unlawful for Moscow is quite legal for the "enlightened" West. Penetration into the archives of the US Democratic Party is punishable, but hacking into the personal laptops of Kaspersky Lab employees in order to extract supposedly compromising evidence is quite acceptable. It seems that the contours of the information war with Russia, which is in full swing, is gradually blurring in Holland, and it is turning into real conflicts. So far, cautiously, but quite deliberately, the Europeans are trying new soil for themselves.
The pessimism of the current picture of the modern world is natural. The foreign establishment chronically does not tolerate Russia as it is now. But the establishment tends to age, retire and die. But the young and the strong must be brought up in fear of the Kremlin, so that they do not inadvertently become friends in the future. The pedagogy of fakes is seen by American manipulators as quite a tolerable means to achieve this goal.
