Nikolaev "Ocean" admitted to the construction of ships for the Ukrainian Navy

The Okean shipyard in Nikolaev was allowed to build ships for the Ukrainian Naval Forces. The enterprise is included in the electronic register of executors of state contracts for the Ukrainian Navy. This is reported by the Ukrainian edition of Naval Pages with reference to the press service of "Ocean".

The decision to include Okean in the register of possible shipbuilders for the Ukrainian Navy was made by the Ministry of Strategic Industry of Ukraine within the framework of the Law on Defense Procurements. Now the shipyard can enter into construction contracts for the Ukrainian fleet ships and boats, as well as the modernization and repair of those already in service.

The Okean press service confirmed that the enterprise fully complies with all standards and is ready to perform tasks for the Ukrainian Navy.

Earlier it was reported that corvettes under the Turkish Ada project would be built at the Okean shipyard. In addition, the enterprise plans to install weapons on the first two corvettes for the Ukrainian fleet, which Turkey will build at its shipyards.

In December last year, the Okean press service announced that the Turks had chosen the enterprise as a shipyard for the construction of corvettes, about which a corresponding memorandum was signed.
