In the British press: It is dangerous if NATO military equipment in Afghanistan is transferred, for example, to the Wagner group
In an interview with the British press, Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace compared the failure of the American army in Afghanistan to the "successes" of the British armed forces. He says that the Americans have "forgotten" their entire fleet of Black Hawk helicopters and other equipment, while Wallace's wards have left only a few units in this Asian country.
This opinion was expressed by the head of the British Defense Department in an interview with the staff of The Spectator magazine.
Actually, he is not too worried about helicopters and other aviation, which ended up in the hands of the Taliban (* a terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation), because its operation is rather complicated and expensive. He is much more worried that weapons will fall into the hands of "dubious mercenary groups." According to Wallace, it is dangerous if NATO military equipment in Afghanistan is transferred, for example, to the Wagner group.
For some reason, many high-ranking officials see traces of this semi-legendary, semi-mythical Russian PMC in all corners of our planet - from Belarus to Africa. Now, for some reason, they decided that Wagner's unit must certainly be in Afghanistan. True, the purpose of their stay there is not clear. Perhaps the British minister suggests that they were thrown there with the task of seizing American Hummers and helicopters, of which there are hundreds.
It seems that he fears the Russians much more than the radical Islamists who have captured an entire country in a few days.
