CDB "Rubin" completed work on the creation of a submarine simulator "Surrogate"

The Rubin Central Design Bureau of Marine Engineering has completed work on the creation of a surrogate submarine simulator. This was announced by a representative of the Central Design Bureau.
Rubin specialists completed the creation of a marine unmanned aerial vehicle Robotcapable of simulating a submarine. "Surrogate" is able to confidently deceive aviation and shipborne detection systems. Work on the robot does not stop; in the future, it will be able to deceive stationary complexes as well.
- leads RIA News words of the representative of the Central Design Bureau.
The fact that Rubin was engaged in the development of a submarine simulator became known back in 2016, in 2020 it was reported that the stage of research work (R&D) on roboticdrone.
The development of the Central Design Bureau is intended for conducting exercises of the Navy, when the involvement of a real submarine distracts it from its main tasks, but it is necessary to preserve the realism of the exercises. The proposed apparatus, due to the modularity of its design, can imitate atomic and non-nuclear submarines, including those of foreign production. In addition, he can make mapping and reconnaissance.
According to available information, the Surrogate simulator is equipped with a lithium-ion battery, which provides training durations of up to 15-16 hours. It is emphasized that all this time he will reproduce the maneuvering of his submarine fleet or the enemy, including at high speeds.
The previously stated characteristics of the Surrogate: displacement - about 40 tons, cruising range - about 600 miles at a speed of 5 knots, maximum speed - over 24 knots, maximum immersion depth - 600 meters.
