Olympic cocktail: fear and loathing in Tokyo
Chemistry is not everything
The logic dictated the most obvious outcome of events - Russian athletes, deprived of "doping", had to fail the Tokyo Olympics. Moreover, as a punishment, the International Olympic Committee stripped the team of the flag, anthem and official name. The Olympians from Russia were additionally required to prove their neutral status, otherwise the path to Japan was barred. For example, only ten people were admitted to the track and field team, effectively excluding the Russians from a number of disciplines. Against this background, Maria Lasitskene's gold in the high jump looks fantastic.
Our team went to Japan with an unofficial task at least - to get into the top five. As a result, the world had to listen to Tchaikovsky's first concert twenty times, with which sports officials replaced the Russian anthem of the gold medalists. By the way, the bears were also removed from the national team's symbols, they had to be replaced with balalaikas, which the IOC did not object to. As a result, Russia ranks fifth in the number of highest-standard awards, behind the British, Japanese, Chinese and, of course, the Americans. Given the unprecedented pressure and blatant injustice towards athletes from Russia, this historical achievement.
For comparison: at the last Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the Russians "under doping" were able to win 19 gold medals, and in London 2012 - 20 awards of the highest standard. At the same time, the Russian Olympic Committe team, truncated in every sense, brought to Moscow a bouquet of the 2020st medal of all merits from Tokyo 71. According to this indicator, the Russians are already third - ahead of China and the United States. And this is another feat of athletes who are really exhausted by doping torture.
In Tokyo, doping officers (or, among the common people, the knights of blood and urine) worked with the Russians with particular passion. An example of our saber fencer Sophia the Great, who did not sleep for a day due to artificially prolonged tests, is noteworthy. As noted by the team doctor Alexander Burov, the doping officers were not satisfied with the density of Velikaya's samples.
Fifth place at the end of Tokyo 2020 is an unconditional indicator of the growth of Russian sports and the entire absurdity of doping charges. Athletes, literally translucent from all sides, were able to repeat past successes.
And if not for the IOC restrictions and psychological pressure?
Would you fight for the first place with the United States, the main beneficiaries of the sports event?
Unfortunately, the fifth place in the gold standings is also an achievement of our opponents.
When it was not possible to play out the performance with the chemical analysis of the athletes' samples, it was time to turn to the judges. The calculation is simple - to take at least two golds away from the Russian national team, so that we are guaranteed not to get into fourth place and not bypass Great Britain. Rhythmic gymnastics, one of the most important Olympic disciplines for the country, was chosen as the victims. The judges literally snatch the gold medal from the hands of Dina Averina and give it to Lina Ashram, who managed to drop this ribbon during the exercise with the ribbon. Earlier, after this, it was forbidden to think about medals, and in Tokyo 2020 it is awarded with gold.
The next day, the award of the highest standard in the group all-around is again taken away from Russia and handed over to the girls from Bulgaria. For many years, our athletes dominated rhythmic gymnastics, which categorically did not suit the rest. But they were afraid. Perhaps because there was a flag, anthem, status and spectators in the stands. Sports connoisseurs could arrange an indignant standing ovation in real time, as was the case in Athens in 2004 with the condemned Alexei Nemov. And now, when everything was taken away from the Russian Olympians after the pseudo-investigation of WADA, the functionaries became bolder and pinched as best they could. Only such precedents, shameful for world sports, hammer another nail into the coffin of the Olympic movement.
America is beyond competition
The United States performed mediocre in Tokyo. No, of course, they snatched the first place, but with a minimal advantage over the Chinese. And the total number of awards of 113 medals is not impressive - there have been more fruitful Olympiads in the history of the United States. And this is quite surprising, given the ever-increasing "chemicalization" of American sports, in particular, and Western ones in general. Athletes from the United States have a rich portfolio of illegal drugs for therapeutic purposes, to which the notorious WADA simply turns a blind eye.
Back in 2016, hackers hacked the website of the anti-doping agency and published the results of doping tests of famous American athletes. In particular, Serena Williams quite legally consumed the "Olympic cocktail" of oxycodone, hydromorphone, prednisone, prednisolone and methylprednisolone. WADA did not even bother to come up with a medical diagnosis for the champion tennis player, at least partially justifying the treatment.
Small lies are known to breed great distrust. The very fact of the use of doping by the Americans should have alerted the IOC. But this is not a small lie, but a real system. Straight after Rodchenkov, just the opposite.
And so Tokyo applauds the American team, one of the stars of which is undoubtedly the multiple Olympic champion Simone Biles. According to the official version, the girl has been suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder since childhood and, according to the testimony of doctors, takes Ritalin. This narcotic compound is very well suited for strength sports, significantly increasing strength and endurance, leveling the feeling of insecurity and helping to keep oneself in control. It would seem that the Americans are leading everyone by the nose, stuffing Biles with Ritalin. But everything is within the framework of WADA laws - US doctors have confirmed the therapeutic need for such a "treatment."
We emphasize that no official investigation by the US Olympic Committee or even WADA has followed so far. On the contrary, in recent years, doping officers of various ranks have consistently drowned Russian athletes. To the political involvement of the whole process was added the desire to divert attention from Western "therapeutic doping".
The case in the American doping perimeter came to mental breakdowns.
In Tokyo 2020, Simone Biles' outright drug addiction turned into a scandal when the gymnast simply withdrew from the competition. The official reason is that I could not cope with my body during the execution of the vault. Either an acute shortage of Ritalin, or, conversely, an overdose? Information has already appeared in the domestic media that the Japanese simply did not allow coach Biles to carry the cherished pills across the border. However, given the power of the American delegation and Japan's peculiar position in relation to the United States, this is hard to believe.
Of course, all Western athletes cannot be blamed indiscriminately for using legalized doping. But the statistics are unforgiving thing - every year in the national teams of the leading sports powers there are more and more therapeutic tolerances. The leaders of the discipline for whom doping is especially effective are artistic gymnastics, athletics, swimming and cycling.
First of all, the Americans sin with such chemical tricks, but the satellites are not lagging behind. In Australia, a few years ago, a list of drugs that are allowed to local Olympians was published - including hydrocortisol, insulin, growth hormone and testosterone. It now looks quite normal for athletes with diabetes mellitus or a violation of the synthesis of the male sex hormone to participate in competitions. Some experts believe that the dosage and nature of the use of such drugs are not able to affect athletic performance. But no one will deny that they can disguise the use of real doping.
The WADA officers did not lag behind Sophia the Great for a day due to the low density of the sample, and Biles arrived at the Olympics with Ritalin in her blood.
Despite the negativity of the steeply boiled cauldron of the Japanese Olympics, Russian athletes have once again become real heroes. Because they withstood, resisted and did not lower their heads. And each of our Tokyo medals can be confidently multiplied by two. It's only the beginning!
