Russian long-range Tu-22M3 bombers bombed simulated militant camps as part of a joint exercise near the Afghan border. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

According to the report, four Tu-22M3s, having taken off from an operational airfield in the Saratov region, flew to the territory of Uzbekistan, where they bombed the Termez range of the Uzbek Defense Ministry. In the course of the assignment, a group bombing strike was practiced on conditional militant camps and ammunition depots. The actions of the bombers' crews were recognized as successful.

Air cover for the four Russian bombers during the bombing was carried out by a pair of MiG-29 fighters of the Uzbekistan Air Force.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the end of the active phase of the joint exercises "South-2021" of the Armed Forces of Russia and Uzbekistan. The final chord of the exercise was the drawing of a scenario to prevent illegal armed groups from crossing the border.

According to the deputy commander of the Central Military District, Lieutenant General Mikhail Teplinsky, during the exercises, the experience gained by Russian military personnel during operations in Syria was widely used.

I completely agree with you. Let them work out within the framework of the teachings. And to climb into Afghan for the time being is not reasonable. Don't wake up dashing ...

Apparently the Uzbeks needed our demonstration to maintain their fighting spirit. Well, at least so. And they themselves will appreciate the result, I hope there were not only chalk circles.

It would be nice to connect the Orion UAV in the attack version to patrolling the border with Afghanistan.
