Polish media: Russia is closely watching what is happening in Afghanistan
36
Fears of a powerful new wave of migration from Afghanistan and the danger of a radical movement spreading beyond the borders of this country is causing concern in other states. And first of all, what is happening in Afghanistan is being watched from neighboring countries, as well as from Russia.
Writes about this Polish edition Rzeczpospolita.
Although Afghanistan is located relatively far from the Russian Federation, it is bordered by states linked by allied relations with Moscow.
Russian military expert Alexander Golts told the Polish media that our country does not hide their satisfaction with the fact that the Americans were defeated. On the other hand, it is clear that the United States, for 20 years fighting the terrorist Taliban banned in the Russian Federation, ensured, among other things, the security of Russia. It is also clear that radical Islam can now infiltrate Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, which could lead to conflicts in the former Soviet republics of Central Asia.
It is noted that such a possibility is quite real, since the authoritarian regimes ruling in the Central Asian states do not have high support from their citizens. And such a soil is ideal for radical Islamists.
The aggravation of the situation in Afghanistan began after Washington made a decision to withdraw the American military from the country. They have already taken control of a significant part of the territory of this Central Asian state.
