A new light flamethrower system "Heat" based on the armored vehicle "Dozor-B" has been developed in Ukraine
In Ukraine, work has been completed on the creation of a light mobile flamethrower system "Zhara". The integration of the launcher on a car chassis was carried out at the Kharkov Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering (KMDB named after Morozov).
Reportedly, KMDB acted as the main executor of the work, installing a launcher produced by the State Enterprise "Shepetivka Repair Plant" on the Ukrainian armored car "Dozor-B" of its own design. Another participant in the project is the State Holding Company "Artem" - a developer and manufacturer of ammunition called RS-122TB "Heat" for the new system.
The decision to develop a light flamethrower system based on the Dozor-B armored car was made at Ukroboronprom, writes Defense Express. As conceived by the designers, "Heat" combines several key characteristics necessary on a modern battlefield, such as: high mobility, invisibility to the enemy, the ability to fire and quickly change position, as well as avoid enemy attacks.
A package with ten guides is located in the back of the Dozor-B armored car and, if necessary, rises to a firing position for firing, the maximum firing range is 7 km. The ammunition will be 122 mm thermobaric projectiles, which are being developed by the Artem State Joint Stock Company. The ammunition is promised to be produced by the end of the year.
According to the Ukrainian press, the new system is being prepared for factory testing, but before that, the only copy of "Heat" will be repainted and shown at the parade in honor of the Independence Day of Ukraine, as another "achievement" of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex.
