Famous commander aviation aerobatic teams "Swifts" Valery Morozov remains in limbo. The Russian Ministry of Defense decided to dismiss an officer from military service before September 5, 2012 for failure to comply with the terms of the contract. At the Ivan Kozhedub Aviation Technology Display Center, an official hearing will soon begin. The fate of the lieutenant colonel will have to decide the certification committee.The former deputy commander of the Swifts, solo pilot, Guard Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Koposov, who currently works as a co-pilot in Yakutia Airlines, agreed to comment on the situation.
Recall, Valery Morozov was detained in the Moscow region airbag Kubinka, according to one of the versions, while receiving money from a businessman for using the emblem of the aerobatic team. According to another, he demanded money from subordinates. At the same time, Valery Morozov himself does not admit his guilt and claims that he was slandered, possibly by one of the officers dismissed from the group.
-Dmitry, to whom, in your opinion, could this provocation be profitable?
-The man who framed Valery Morozov, came to us in "Swifts" four years ago. At that time we took a person to the 1 - 2 aerobatic team per year. Accordingly, we counted on them, because at that time the process of transfer to the group ranged from 6 to 8 months. At that time I was the deputy commander of the aerobatic team for educational work. And the first question that Alexey Novikov asked me was: “Dmitry Alexandrovich, when will I have the same beautiful jumpsuit like yours?” I answered him: “After the first loop from take-off”. This apparently upset him, and after three months he wrote off on contrived headaches. When the pilot has no reason to write off, he tells the doctors: "You know, I have a headache when I take off." The head, as they say, is a dark subject, is not subject to research. In such cases, the pilot is usually blamed on flight work and everyone disagrees with the world.
Absolutely none of us expected Novikov such a setup. But Valery Morozov arranged for his spouse through personal connections to a good neuropathologist, he helped as much as he could. This man for our entire team just died. It is our fault that we did not see his true face in time.
And now Novikov live with it. There is a high court - own conscience. But if he still agreed with her somehow ... No one will beat him. Who needs to get dirty about him?
-How could the business of Alexey Novikov be associated with the symbolism of "Swifts"?
-I was very surprised to find out that Novikov is a businessman. And what relation he has to the symbolism of "Swifts" is not clear. The rightholder of the Swifts emblem is not even the Ministry of Defense, not the aerobatic team and not the pilots. This right is reserved for one - the only person. I know this person personally, and I can assure you that he was not acquainted with Novikov. Who is he - can be found in the patent office. One thing I can say is our good friend. In order to protect ourselves from the appearance of the logo "Swifts" on some unacceptable goods, we asked this person to take on all the costs of its design. By and large, the ownership of the Swifts emblem does not bring any tangible profits.
- Initially, it was reported that Valery Morozov demanded from seven of his subordinates in the process of dismissal, according to 5, thousand rubles. for the fact that he will not demand their appearance in the service until the release of the order for their dismissal.
-I quit recently, in July. True, I didn’t refer to the Swifts subdivision, for the last three years I served in the management of the Ivan Kozhedub Aviation Engineering Center. But the pilots are all my friends, I am very familiar with the situation. Believe me, even with regard to one person, there was no evidence of extortion, not to mention seven. There are seven of those who quit - it will not reach.
- “Strizhi” and “Russian Vityazi” have already offered to relocate to Lipetsk. Do pilots of aerobatic teams trying to squeeze out of Kubinka in this way?
- It all came together at one point. Novikov said with his statement to the police. The group got into a situation when you need to fly to an international show, and Valery Anatolyevich cannot be replaced. The group basically got out of this situation, but I am sure that the four of them in Serbia would work much better than the three.
And you would like to squeeze out the pilots from Kubinka, they could have done it much easier. The hype here to anything. Anyone engaged in such intrigues should understand that the aerobatic team has access to both the press and friends. To soil such a name as Morozov is quite difficult.

- This is another item that makes me very happy. If they meant, allegedly, extortion, then this is simply ridiculous, because the fact itself has not yet been proved, moreover, even the charge has not been brought. If the officer didn’t observe any other clauses of the contract, why wasn’t it noticed before, but suddenly surfaced now? Someone in the Ministry of Defense first takes some steps, and only then thinks.
- In the case of Valery Morozov, an official hearing will be held at the Kozhedub Center. How will the certification commission work?
-There is a fact of application. Trying to sully the officer. So, in part, a commission is expected, which will consider the behavior of the pilot on the basis of documents prepared, including by the personnel department. A decision will be made, for example, the officer behaved with dignity, or - not with dignity, we looked at it. I think the attestation commission will consider everything fairly and make its conclusion. Certification commission is not to be scared. Valery Anatolyevich has nothing to fear. He is an honest man and an honest officer.
- Have you communicated with Valery Morozov in recent days?
-Yes. He was stunned, firstly, by the behavior of Novikov himself, secondly by the inadequate reaction of the Ministry of Defense itself. They wanted to flood the person first, and then see what came of it? Will pass through this test officer, or will not pass? It seems that the Ministry of Defense is just interested, but what will happen if we aggravate the situation? This, in my opinion, is absolutely the wrong position in relation to the officer corps.
I remember the case of two years ago, when during fires the warehouses on the basis of the Navy in the Kolomna region near Moscow caught fire. By the decree of President Dmitry Medvedev, high-ranking officials were dismissed, as well as Colonel Rasskazov, Deputy Chief of Aviation of the Navy, and base commander Colonel Viktor Biront. The latter was fired with the wording “due to non-performance of the contract”. During the investigation, it turned out that the same Biront showed exceptional heroism. He served in the Armed Forces 26 for years, during which time he did not receive a single penalty. In the suburban Kolomna district in the post of base commander, he served only three months and 25 days, and all this time he took measures to ensure fire safety at the base. He and his sailors on their own to the last extinguished the fire, rescued important documents from the fire, weapon and ammunition. They had to be rewarded for it. But not everyone was able to save ... The media then called about the negligence of the military. A year later, the Lyuberetsky garrison military court figured out and reinstated Viktor Biront. It was recognized illegal and the dismissal of Colonel Rasskazova. This worthy officer and now safely serves in the army. Only information about this has not passed anywhere.
Valery Morozov is also insanely hard now. Slapping a man is easy. Who then will whitewash the pilot?
