Ukrainian Armed Forces received another batch of restored BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles

28

The Zhytomyr Armored Plant restored and overhauled another batch of BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles. The equipment has already been transferred to representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the press service of the enterprise reports.

As explained, the BMPs were restored as part of the state defense order. In the course of repair and modernization, combat efficiency was restored on all machines, faulty devices were replaced, and the operation of weapons was checked.

It is reported that the upgraded systems received modern navigation systems, optical devices and sights of Ukrainian production. Infrared headlights and lighting headlights with modern LED lamps were installed as additional equipment.

How many vehicles were transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not disclosed, in the photo published by the press service of the plant, you can see three or four vehicles.

Meanwhile, it became known that the Kharkiv Malyshev Plant, acting as a partner of the Zhytomyr Armored Plant for the supply of tracks for the BMP-2, refused to supply them. At least Kharkiv residents, for unknown reasons, stopped participating in the bidding for the supply of tracks for restored BMPs. Now the supply will be handled by private enterprises.

Didn't they sell this scrap? I do not believe. Looks like "GamErika is no longer with them." I sold my Papuans. If we have already begun to "restore" the technique.

I like to read news about the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It seems like a peremog, BMP-2, but as usual, almost one-of-a-kind, and without major modernization.
And then these people come to the Russian-speaking forum, and tell us that they are buying BMP-3 from us, like shameful ones.
And it feels so good at heart, realizing that we have a T-15 in military trials.
(Yes, I remember that we also have BMP-1 and BMP-2 in service, but they are not only repaired, but also seriously modernized, and what is equally important, not piece by piece, but in battalion sets)

      almost piece

36 pieces per tenders if you count for spare parts. And this is their state defense order for the current year.

      without major modernization

Well, we chose quantity instead of quality. There is quite a normal modernization package there, but then for this money there would be not 36 pieces, but 10, but in reality in general 2-4 because the piece production of BM and it will have to be rocked for 2-3 years.

      There is also a competitor.

The fact that the Ukrainian is rolling around the exhibitions, you can not watch, this is unscientific fantasy. Reality is wonderfully tracked by Klotch.

In / on more than a thousand infantry fighting vehicles, and of them hundreds of new ones will not be typed. If Ukraine repairs 36 BMPs a year, then their armored vehicles will be repaired every thirty years.

Upper BM is an evolution of Squall, which even in the RF Armed Forces received good characteristics when considering Georgian trophies. And it is quite possible to do it right now. There, according to the tests, it seems like a positive conclusion. The plant is alive. It is simply expensive and the first couple of years the deadlines are missed, the jambs of the start of the series are guaranteed.

Will-D is not clear from the platform (they have their own) and the possibilities in general. It is rather a demonstrator shooting with "give me money" to bring it to state tests. However, on the whole, there is nothing really incredible there. Two landing on ATGMs, a Ukrainian clone of a 30 mm cannon (which is on the BTR-4, and the residents of Zhytomyr have another gun, which is a clone 2A42 - ZTM-2 and they are also put on the BMP-2 to replace it by the way), a European teplak with a Ukrainian FCS.

If we are talking about modules. If about boxes, then everything is more complicated there. Again, residents of Zhytomyr propose to solve the issue of motor resources not by any cunning schemes and searching for details, with cannibalization, but by installing a European diesel engine, which will also improve operational and driving performance. However, this also costs money. With the Doyts, less than 10 cars were handed over even under Poroshenko.

These Shkvalov-Sturmov were and are being made about two dozen a year. And this seems to be the production limit.
Is a European diesel engine suitable for a Soviet box? Or change the box? Where to get spare parts for the suspension? And again, if nothing is left in addition to the body, isn't it easier to create a car from scratch? The crack is, in principle, a normal armored personnel carrier, except for manufacturing defects, and the use of spare parts removed from the armored personnel carrier 70 and armored personnel carrier-80.

In the outskirts themselves laugh at themselves! There is a "Military Channel". He talks about the state of the army and the military industry of the non-state.
That's when they check this technique, repaired and "new advanced", it shoots it is not clear where, and does not travel for a long time ... But everything is fine, remember Zhvanetsky:

Especially if you take into account the loud name "Zhytomyr Armored Plant". laughing An ordinary re-warehouse from Soviet times, near Zhitomir. The only armored plant in Ukraine is the plant. Malyshev, who, apparently, is not capable of producing not only tanks, but also tracks for tracks. laughing

I already wrote somewhere here on Topvar that Ukraine is the Russia of the late nineties. The brothers are no longer there, everything is divided by the seven-bank system, the president is a doll, the country is being ruled from abroad.
It is not profitable to be a worker. They pay almost no money, everyone sells something. Instead of our shuttles, Ukrainian ghasts and ostarbeiters. The factories have collapsed.
The defense of the Russian Federation miraculously survived. On export orders. on a meager purchase of MO, but survived. Yes, and the simple was less, what no succession of generations was. In / on the factories in fact have been around for thirty years. Nobody updated the machine park. The design school, this is Rostik Abramov, and the gloomy geniuses who gathered Dung.
They now have to start from scratch, with a licensed assembly of something, gradually increasing their production capacity and competencies. But I don't even see any progress in this area.

Maybe Ukraine needs to be compared not with the Russian Federation, but with someone else? With RB, for example. I understand that there was an inheritance, factories, a powerful army, etc., but the countries are too different.
And the Russian Federation should be compared with the militarily stronger countries. It is necessary to focus on excellent students, and not on poor students

And you will not see. In Ukraine, since 91, no one was going to build anything. All power (in full accordance with the local mentality) was initially sharpened for cutting the country (fortunately, the damned Russians have left so much that they have been sawing for thirty years) and preparing Ukraine for a war with Russia. With which they do an excellent job, since a bad thing is not tricky. And anything sensible to build and develop, this is not, excuse me, about Ukraine.

To be fair - from today's news on VO:
The Russian Ministry of Defense has strengthened the 201st military base in Tajikistan, the Russian military received a batch of modernized BMP-2M. This was reported by the press service of the Central Military District.
The base reportedly received 17 BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicles designed to replace obsolete military equipment.

RF sends BM-2M, with a bank. And this is the new LMS, and the AGS on the roof, and the Cornet. My IMHO is that this is a waste of money, an expensive perfect module for an old case.

But for some reason, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation ignores my opinion. laughing

So "Berezhok" was done for the modernization of old BMP-1 and BMP-2. Here is the information from the manufacturer's website:
The complex is designed to modernize BMP-1, BMP-2, as well as to equip objects of armored vehicles of domestic and foreign production such as BMP and BTR, BMD.
© site of JSC "Design Bureau of Instrument Making named after Academician A. G. Shipunov".
Well-roshie devices in Tula are doing. smile

And what about the high cost - the Ministry of Defense saved money even here by ordering "Berezhki" for the RF Armed Forces immediately after their serial production was mastered and worked out on a foreign order (Algeria). And the Algerians did not stint and ordered about 400 "Berezhkov" for the BMP-2, and then another 360 for the BMP-1.
Then the Ministry of Defense "fell on the tail" of the Algerian contract and ordered as many as 540 "Berezhkov" for BMP-2 and BMD-2. In Tula, at the Shcheglovsky Val plant, a new workshop was even built for this order.

Is it bad that the Ministry of Defense saved money for the Russians? In my opinion, it's the other way around in plus karma.

Who prevents Ukrainian factories from selling hundreds and thousands of combat modules around the planet, earning billions of dollars? Who prevented the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau from increasing the production of missiles and satellites? The Antonov Design Bureau even tried to save the Russian Federation, but it did not work.

The Ministry of Defense learned to take advantage of foreign orders in the days of the furniture maker, when it began to order "Russified" versions of products previously manufactured for export: pr.11356, pr. 636.3, Su-30M2, Su-30SM.

More like industrial cannibalism than modernization. In fact, they simply restored what did not work without creating qualitatively new characteristics. And where did you get the spare parts and devices? Right ! "Divide" other cars into bhvt.

When, with such a scanty budget, there are 25000 people in the army, it is understandable that the money is spent on their maintenance, and not on the qualitative development of technology. Even with all the stress on their economy in terms of the military budget. There are no miracles in real life. Russia of course has the same problem compared to (for example) China. But the scales are not comparable.

I feel sorry for the adequate Ukrainian engineers, gunsmiths and other specialists who could work together with Russian partners on modern weapons and other projects, and instead are forced to dig into scrap metal. When the Ukrainians finally realize that that pathetic and small gang ruling Ukraine is simply using the slogans "European integration", "reforms", "rule of law", etc., but in fact only self-enrichment due to the collapse and complete de-industrialization of Ukraine. Even in the West, they have already made it clear that the course of the corrupt elite towards even greater corruption is not a path to the EU and cannot be. This gang pits fraternal peoples against each other, allowing the complete collapse of Ukraine and the impoverishment of Ukrainians only because they themselves would remain in power and suck the blood of Ukrainians. Maybe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine there will be reasonable people who understand where the country is heading, organize and sweep away this shameful junta, and after them, if necessary, the national battalions. They will limit the power of the center, making Ukraine a federation, which will give each subject an opportunity to develop as they want and how they can.
