The Indian Air Force has lost another HAL Dhruv helicopter. According to the Indian news agency ANI, a military helicopter crashed in northern India during a scheduled flight.

According to the newspaper, which cites unnamed military sources, the helicopter crew made a planned flight as part of providing humanitarian assistance to victims of severe floods. The helicopter took off from Pathankot airbase in the Punjab state of northern India and crashed near the Ranjit Sagar Dam, falling into the water.

The reasons for the fall are not named, according to military sources, both crew members are alive. However, there were records on Twitter claiming that, in addition to the pilots, there were several officers on board who were missing. The search and rescue operation continues.

It is noted that this is the second disaster involving a HAL Dhruv helicopter since the beginning of this year. In mid-January, a helicopter that took off from the same Pathankot in the state of Punjab crashed in the south of the state of Jammu and Kashmir in the area of the Lakhanpur settlement in the Katua district. The pilots were seriously injured and were taken to hospital. Later one of them died.

HAL Dhruv is a light multipurpose military helicopter developed by the Indian national company HAL with the support of the German concern Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm. Work on the helicopter started in 1984, it made its first flight in 1992, and serial production began in 2003.

I have never seen Indian technology, which is famous for its reliability, but old English cranes, probably still from colonial times, have come across in India.

Since the Hindus have lost the technology for the production of vimanas, they have been unable to do anything with aviation technology. The contract for the licensed production of the Ka-226 directly indicates that India knows and understands the problems and shortcomings of this machine.
