Kiev intends to continue the fight against the "Nord Stream-2"
Kiev will continue to fight the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, trying to prevent it from earning money. This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian "Naftogaz" Yuriy Vitrenko.
Vitrenko admitted that Ukraine would no longer be able to stop the construction of the gas pipeline, but it is quite possible to prevent its launch. To do this, it is enough to make sure that it is not certified. For this, Kiev, according to the head of Naftogaz, has methods.
According to him, Kiev needs to prove that the operator of Nord Stream 2 is controlled by Gazprom and Putin. Thus, it will be established that the production and transportation of gas is carried out by one company or person, and this is prohibited by European legislation.
Despite the announcement of a "war" with the Russian gas pipeline, Vitrenko admitted that Ukraine needs to negotiate with Gazprom on the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine after the expiration of the contract. However, according to him, today there are no contacts with the Russian company, and time is running out. At the same time, he expressed the hope that Kiev will be able to agree with Moscow on gas transit and this will happen before 2024.
Meanwhile, Germany threatened to block Nord Stream 2 if Russia again commits "aggressive actions directed against Ukraine." A corresponding statement was made by the chairman of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), candidate for Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Armin Laschet. True, he told all this in an interview with a Polish newspaper, and not speaking from a high rostrum. It should be noted that such statements have been heard more than once and will continue until the gas pipeline starts operating.
