Russian military personnel from 201st base have been deployed to the borders of Afghanistan to conduct exercises
The situation in northern Afghanistan continues to deteriorate in connection with the attempts of militants from the Taliban terrorist movement (* banned in Russia) to gain control over increasingly vast territories. Some time ago, with reference to accounts controlled by the Taliban *, Western media reported that at a number of checkpoints on the Afghan-Tajik border, Taliban field commanders * placed groups of ethnic Tajiks - from the cells of terrorist organizations that are banned in Tajikistan. If this information is true, then the likelihood that the militants will nevertheless begin to infiltrate into Tajikistan increases.
Against this background, there are reports that the regrouping of the troops of the 201st Russian military base on the territory of Tajikistan - at the "Harb-Maidon" training ground has been completed. There will be joint maneuvers of the contingents of Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The information is confirmed by the press service of the Central Military District (Central Military District).

They made a 200-km march, during which they practiced the combat protection of the columns, repelling the attack of the conditional enemy DRGs. For this, the army was also used. aviation... The tasks of overcoming areas of terrain with various types of contamination, including chemical contamination, were also worked out.
In the area where the Russian contingent is concentrated, command and control posts have been deployed, and camouflage measures have been taken.
The maneuvers with the participation of Russian, Tajik and Uzbek military will take place from 5 to 10 August near the border with Afghanistan. One of the stages of the exercise will be associated with repelling an attack from gangs from the adjacent territory. This is a very urgent task in the region today.
