The Indian Navy has upgraded its guided missile frigate INS Tabar. The ship is now equipped with a new electronic warfare system created by the domestic defense company Bharat Electronics.
As part of the modernization on the frigate Tabar of the Indian Navy, the Russian-made electronic warfare system was replaced with an Indian version. Now the ship has a new electronic equipment Varuna, developed by the Defense Electronics Research Laboratory of India. The system is capable of monitoring up to 500 radio sources in dense environments.
The guided missile frigate was also equipped with new radars, presumably produced by the German marine electronics firm Atlas Elektronik. In addition, at Tabara, the Russian Harpoon-Ball radar of the surface-to-surface missile system was replaced by a Scanter from the Danish company Terma.
The ship recently arrived on a friendly visit to St. Petersburg to participate in the celebration of the Day of the Naval fleet RF. We can say that the frigate visited its homeland, because it was built in Russia and transferred to the Indian Navy in 2004.
