A battalion set of BMD-4M and BTR-MDM entered the Ivanovo Guards airborne unit of the Airborne Forces

The next battalion set of military equipment, already the second this year, entered the Airborne Forces. According to the Ministry of Defense, the consignment of equipment was transferred to the Ivanovo paratroopers.
The Ivanovo Guards Airborne Force of the Airborne Forces received a battalion set of 37 new combat vehicles. The party included 31 BMD-4M airborne combat vehicles and 6 armored personnel carriers BTR-MDM "Shell". All equipment will go into service with one of the battalions of the 217th Ivanovo paratrooper regiment.
As noted in the military department, the equipment was delivered within the framework of the state defense order. This is already the eleventh battalion set that entered the Airborne Forces as part of the rearmament. The tenth set was delivered in early June for an airborne assault battalion from the Caucasian Cossack regiment of the Novorossiysk airborne assault mountain unit of the Airborne Forces in Stavropol.
According to the deputy commander of the Airborne Forces for armaments, Alexei Ragozin, by the end of the year the troops will receive two more battalion sets of equipment. Which divisions will receive the new equipment has not yet been revealed.
The serial production of BMD-4М ("Object 960М") is carried out by JSC "Volgograd Tractor Plant", BTR-MDM ("Object 955") is made by JSC "Kurgan Machine-Building Plant" (KMZ).
