"Perhaps, they will get up for long-term repairs in Russia": abroad are pondering where the Iranian Navy ships Sahand and Makran can go from St. Petersburg
For the first time in stories Iranian Navy ships took part in the main naval parade in St. Petersburg in honor of the Day of the Russian Navy. We are talking about the warships "Sahand" and "Makran", which before that aroused keen interest from the United States - after entering the Atlantic Ocean, and a commotion on the Danish side, sailing near the island of Bornholm in the Baltic.
In total, more than fifty ships, including ships of foreign states, took part in the main naval parade. The air part of the parade was attended by more than 40 units aviation equipment - airplanes and helicopters.
The Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi was also present at the naval parade in the northern capital of the Russian Federation. Earlier, he was personally invited to St. Petersburg by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
Iranian warships arrived in the City on the Neva on the eve of July 24.
The Iranian media note that, having arrived in St. Petersburg after a long sea passage, the ships of the Iranian naval forces demonstrated growing capabilities fleet.
Western sources are now talking about where Sahand and Makran will go after participating in the parade in honor of the Russian Navy. While some believe that after a few days in the Russian Federation, the Iranian ships will again leave for Iran, while others are confident that the Sahand and Makran can go to Venezuela. Here it is necessary to point out that at first the American media announced about Venezuela as the final crossing point for Iranian warships. It was also reported that American intelligence "closely monitors Sahand and Makran."
In a publication by the Israeli Jerusalem Post:
The Iranian Navy itself is not talking about any repairs that the destroyer Sahand and the auxiliary ship Makran may allegedly need.
