Turkish Defense Ministry confirms Turkish military casualties in northern Syria
The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirms the information that appeared on social media regarding casualties in Syria.
The Turkish military department says that during the next stage of the operation "Shield of the Euphrates", conducted in the north of the Syrian Arab Republic, "the militants carried out an attack on the Turkish patrol."
From the message of the Turkish Ministry of Defense:
In the summary of the Turkish military department it is said that a force operation was carried out in response. It is stated that the terrorist group was discovered some time later and “effectively defeated”.
According to the latest data, the incident with the attack on the Turkish military patrol took place in the north of the Aleppo province, where Turkey is engaged in the actual occupation of the Syrian territories, continuing to build a kind of buffer zone.
The attack was probably carried out by one of the Kurdish armed groups, which is part of the militant wing of the Kurdistan Workers' Party. Ankara recognizes this organization as terrorist and calls on the UN Security Council to do the same. However, the United Nations Security Council is in no hurry with such a decision at the moment.
According to the latest reports, after an attack on a Turkish patrol, Turkish troops launched a series of artillery strikes on the Kurdish-controlled territories of the Syrian province of Aleppo.
