Russia sent humanitarian aid to Cuba. According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, two military transport aircraft flew to Havana.
The military department reportedly sent two An-124 Ruslan transport aircraft to Cuba. Cargo - humanitarian aid with a total weight of over 88 tons. The planes are carrying food and protective equipment, including over 1 million medical masks for the population. The planes took off from the Chkalovsky airfield.
As the Ministry of Defense emphasized, humanitarian aid was sent to Cuba on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As previously reported, a series of anti-government protests took place in Cuba, during which protesters opposed restrictive measures to combat the coronavirus and demanded a vaccine against COVID-19. According to the Cuban authorities, the protests were artificially fueled by the United States. As a result, the situation in the country has stabilized.
Meanwhile, the Pentagon did not rule out that, if necessary, the Russian Ministry of Defense could provide assistance to Cuba without sending aircraft across the Atlantic. According to American experts, the Russians have a jump base in Venezuela for this.
