The assassins of the President of Haiti were arrested at the Taiwan embassy during a special operation
The Haitian police had to carry out a special operation to capture the assassins of the country's President Jovenel Moise on the territory of the embassy of a foreign state - Taiwan, officially called the Republic of China.
Recall that the President of the country was killed on Wednesday night, his wife was seriously injured. Hot on the trail, the Haitian police managed to detain several suspects, four criminals were shot while trying to resist. But the search for those involved continued, and it soon became known that they might be hiding in the Taiwanese embassy.
The police informed the diplomats that they needed to enter the embassy to search and detain suspects who may be on its territory. The Taiwanese ambassador immediately gave his permission for the police operation. As a result, 11 people were detained at the embassy.
Why the criminals ended up on the territory of the embassy of a foreign state is not very clear. There is no official information about this curious nuance yet. It is possible that they simply entered its territory, hiding from the pursuit of the police and military, who are now patrolling the streets of Port-au-Prince and conducting an operation to detain any suspicious citizens.
Interestingly, most of those involved in the attack on Moiz's residence and his murder - 26 out of 28 people - are citizens of Colombia. The fact of the participation of retired Colombian soldiers in this crime was acknowledged by the Minister of Defense of Colombia, Diego Molano. Two more participants in the murder are US citizens of Haitian origin.
