Out of boredom? I will take into account, and especially for you I will write only in technical terms.
B-12 is a strategic helicopter, according to NATO classification Homer - "Homer" - the heaviest and most lifting helicopter ever built in the world. A distinctive feature is the lateral arrangement of the screws on the reverse constriction wings, which are driven by four D-25VF engines.

The B-12 was developed as a super-heavy transport helicopter with a payload of at least 30 tons for the transport of components of intercontinental ballistic missiles for strategic missile forces or the creation of positional areas, which were planned to be placed on the ground without paved roads.

      Maybe a legend, maybe not:
The crews of the Tu-95MS highly appreciated its defensive capabilities, considering the aircraft literally "indestructible". The onboard defense complex of this device was the most advanced in the USSR and surpassed the B-52N complex in a number of indicators. Unlike the Tu-160, the problems of electromagnetic compatibility were successfully solved on the Tu-95MS, and in 1987, during special tests, its electronics brilliantly thwarted all attempts to attack the most modern interceptor MiG-31.

The flight took place at night in poor meteorological conditions at an altitude of 8000 m. The MiG pilot reported: "I observe the target visually, I can work out a cannon, it is impossible to make a tactical launch." As you can see, on the Tu-95MS the stern gunner regained its former value.

the stern installation was equipped with PIKS projectiles - infrared traps, and the upper and lower ones - PRLS - anti-radar. Both of them did not assume firing at the target - PIXES were fanned out if necessary, and the radar were fired at special marks applied to the HRV blisters (air gunner-radio operator, seat in the front cockpit, dome-shaped blister) and Cherries. Red paint, in an arc to the right, 4 round marks with numbers were applied to the glass, sighting stations were aimed at these marks and a turn was given for each. At a distance of 2000 m, the shells exploded, throwing out metallic tinsel, which formed a cloud.
Because theoretically, a situation could arise that an enemy appeared, for some reason did not fill us up, at a distance of less than 2000 m from the plane (suddenly he was going to ram?), then the PRLS, which did not have a high-explosive or armor-piercing action, could make a hole in it, so sometimes targets were fired but terrestrial. On the seashore, in the strip of the standard route to the BS or CU, some log structures were folded, so they worked on them until my chief (of the RR regiment services) confused the structures with the barracks of the border guards. They were surprised.

But usually the shooting was carried out during any flight to the base station or control center - according to all the rules, they shot the air, at the same time getting rid of the stale c / c. Ammunition was constantly present on board, but the guns were actually charged only by vehicles on alert. The rest flew with a b / c, but with ribbons not fed into the receiver (the receiver was also closed with a metal shutter - a "flag".

        Interesting fact
Aft cannon installation will be removed from the Tu-22M3M.

“Today it is archaism,” states Murakhovsky. - Today, close air combat and interception by fighters with small arms and cannon weapons is a retro style. Therefore, of course, the cannon must be removed, but at the same time the aircraft must be reinforced with a modern electronic suppression system. Perhaps it will not be specifically the Vitebsk complex, but something adapted for the Tu-22M3: after all, the mass of the gun with ammunition is large enough, so instead of it it is quite possible to make a rather powerful station of electronic and optoelectronic suppression.
