British Press on Afghanistan: US and NATO Leave, Terrorists Return

40

The British press believes that the withdrawal of the US and NATO from Afghanistan will allow the terrorists to return to the country and seize power there. In particular, the BBC reports this, citing the opinion of the security analyst Sajan Gokhel.

The expert is sure that Joe Biden's decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan makes the seizure of the country by the Taliban inevitable (* a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation). Moreover, the arrival of the Taliban will give al-Qaeda * the ability to rebuild its network to the point where it can again plan attacks around the world.

According to Gokhel, both of the aforementioned extremist organizations are linked by political, cultural and, to some extent, even family obligations. Therefore, the arrival of the Taliban * will undoubtedly "resurrect" in Afghanistan and Al-Qaeda * with all its bases, training camps, etc.

It should be noted that Sajan Gokhel expressed the most pessimistic scenario. However, it is also the most probable.

First, despite the Taliban's * statements that they do not intend to seize Kabul, this is hard to believe. The Taliban *, a radical branch of Islam, has never abandoned plans to turn the whole of Afghanistan into an emirate based on strict religious principles.

Secondly, al-Qaeda and IS * have long been in the country. However, up to this point, the "ambitions" of the rival groups had been contained by the Afghan military and Western special forces. Now the militants will undoubtedly take advantage of the withdrawal of the US and NATO and try to significantly expand their influence in Afghanistan.

Former head of the UK's Secret Intelligence Service, Sir Alex Younger, also expressed concern about what is happening in an interview with Sky News. According to him, with the withdrawal of US troops, the threat to Britain will grow. Is it for Britain? ..

This week the NSC will decide what military assistance London should provide to Afghanistan. It has already been decided that several hundred special forces will remain in the country. However, this raises a dilemma.

On the eve of the Taliban * made it clear that any Western forces remaining in the country after 11/XNUMX would be perceived as a violation of the Doha deal and attacked by the movement's fighters. Thus, the British "specialists" deprived of military support can become easy prey for the militants.

On the other hand, if the West withdraws all its forces, as required by the Taliban, it will be completely deprived of the ability and means to respond quickly to intelligence information about the terrorist threat.

In general, the picture is clear: the withdrawal of US and NATO troops will inevitably bring new terrorists from al-Qaeda * and IS * to Afghanistan. The latter need chaos and instability to strengthen their positions, as was the case in Iraq and Syria. Apparently, in Afghanistan, everything is heading towards this, and, as the expert notes: the United States and NATO are leaving, the terrorists are returning.

That the withdrawal of the US and NATO from Afghanistan will allow terrorists to return to the country

And that while the US and NATO were there, (the terrorists) weren't there.

On the whole, the picture is clear: the withdrawal of US and NATO troops will inevitably bring new terrorists from al-Qaeda * and IS * to Afghanistan. The latter need chaos and instability to strengthen their positions, as was the case in Iraq and Syria.

I wonder who really created this chaos and instability around the world.

And they arm themselves! Straight into the rhyme Vlad .. There, only one abandoned US base left 1000 cars and armored vehicles, ammunition, food, etc.
Without notifying. Even the official authorities of Afghanistan .. The plunder began there!
How many spirits armed themselves .. And the most interesting thing was moved to Tajikistan, etc.
Obviously there was a conspiracy .. I hope we will fight back, the main thing is that Putin does not talk, but acts tough .. As he said correctly, "The neighboring village is on fire, you need to help extinguish by all means .." Let him act!
        Russia will support .. hi

What have they been doing there for 20 years? In 20 years it was possible to buy the entire Taliban, then sell and then buy again.

The war was lost to the Taliban for drug trafficking. And they lost.

On February 29, in Doha, the capital of Qatar, the United States and the Russian-banned Taliban signed a peace agreement that could end the long-standing Afghan civil war.

According to Reuters, US special envoy for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad and deputy leader of the Taliban movement, head of the Qatari political office of the movement, Mullah Abdullah Ghani Baradar, took part in the signing ceremony.

After signing the document, Khalilzad and Baradar shook hands. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of about 30 countries, including NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Experts point out that the signing of the agreement could help President Donald Trump fulfill a key campaign promise to end "endless wars." The United States will begin withdrawing thousands of troops in exchange for the Taliban's commitment to prevent Afghanistan from becoming a staging ground for terrorist attacks.

... “This agreement is the result of many efforts, by which we confirm that Afghanistan will never be a base for terrorists,” said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, speaking at the signing ceremony.
According to the text of the agreement, the United States must reduce the number of troops in Afghanistan from 12 thousand to 8,6 thousand people within 135 days, and after that it will continue to withdraw all American and NATO forces within 14 months. In addition, the United States is committed to lifting sanctions from members of the movement by August 2020.

Well, how what? They tirelessly raised drug-growing farms and built appropriate logistics. This is a difficult and painstaking job.

In general, and who created and protected world terrorism, isn't the United States profiting from blood and global instability? In Afghanistan, for example, the States supported the Mujahideen, gave them Stingers, and taught them directly and indirectly. It's no secret that the CIA is involved in the drug trade.
Yes, the USSR sent troops to Afghanistan in 1979. However, even in this, as noted by the commander of the 40th Army Boris Gromov, the combat missions of the 40th Army were only 40%, and 60% were peaceful.

Since the 1960s, the USSR has built 142 economic, social and infrastructural facilities in Afghanistan, roads and bridges, gas pipelines, factories, and educational institutions. The construction of many was completed even before the entry of Soviet troops into Afghanistan, peaceful construction continued and after that, huge funds were spent on training local specialists in the Soviet Union. Thanks to the USSR, the world learned the name of the first Afghan cosmonaut Abdul Ahad Momand.

Kindergartens, schools, clinics, more than a dozen technical schools and vocational schools, a boarding school in Kabul based on an orphanage were opened throughout the country.

Friendship Bridge, or Puli Dusti (since 1989 called Hairaton), construction began in the early 1980s. On this bridge, from May 15, 1988, Soviet troops were withdrawn from Afghanistan.
The withdrawal was completed on February 15, 1989, when the last units left. The Soviet Union did a lot for Afghanistan, although the US fanned the war and talked about Soviet "aggression".
To this, in 2006, the debt of Afghanistan was restructured at 11 billion dollars. Later, Kabul turned to Moscow with a request to restore the most important Soviet facilities.
