Ukraine launches production of the DShK heavy machine gun. A modernized version of the Soviet 12,7 mm machine gun will be assembled at the Mayak plant.

The Mayak Kiev plant, which previously announced the launch of production of the KT-12,7 heavy machine gun, which is an analogue of the Soviet NSVT heavy machine gun, will begin production of a modernized version of another Soviet heavy machine gun, the DShKM.

Reportedly, the company has already demonstrated a localized version of the DShK machine gun to the delegation of one of the African countries that visited the plant. Wherein weapon was demonstrated not only in statics, but also in action during shooting.

According to the Mayak management, the modernized version of the 12,7 mm DShK machine gun is at the stage of factory tests and is preparing to undergo state tests, following which should be adopted by the Ukrainian army. In addition, the leadership hopes that the machine gun will go well for export, given that it is still popular in the Middle East, Africa and a number of Latin American countries.

As stated, the company has a wealth of experience in the production of weapons, at Mayak they serially produce the KT-7,62 machine guns for armored vehicles and the KM-7,62 in the infantry version, which are analogs of the Soviet PKT and PKM machine guns, respectively. In addition, the plant has mastered the production of the notorious 120-mm Molot mortars and is preparing to produce the KT-12,7 heavy machine guns.

Well, judging by the "Hammer" at the DShK, the barrel will be designed for 500 shots, and then the Russian roulette, no luck. Ukroarmiya should fear, first of all, itself and its military-industrial complex. Since no one has done more damage to the ukrovoyak.

          Words HEMA request

Undoubtedly, the DShK-DShKM is a successful machine gun, almost the best of the line of large-caliber at the time of creation and adoption in service in 1938 (I emphasize this date) and some period before the appearance of more modern models.
Yes, the DShKM was, and in some places is still in service in more than 40 countries, mostly industrially weak or poor.

But Ukraine ... This industrial and military giant, a monster ...

The DShK has good performance characteristics, its problem is its heavy weight, it is difficult to drag it even onto the machine of a tank turret. Where weight is not so critical, it may well be applied now.

DShK is just extremely unfortunate, you cannot compare with Browning. But in the DShKM, where all the shortcomings have been eliminated, it is a completely different matter, it is not in vain that it still appears on the fronts around the world. It would be easier for Ukraine to buy a kmk from the same Chinese - both the quality is better, and it will come out cheaper than the "development" of money for production :)

It looks like they are counting on buyers like "I had one like this, I shot great, I want EXACTLY the same." And again zrada - already at least a second sample of weapons under the Soviet (not NATO) cartridge. Or is it an attempt to participate in the American program for purchasing weapons produced in the USSR?

Do you seriously consider the removal of preservative grease and replacement of Soviet (for mosinki, possibly tsar) tags with new, ukromovye ones as production?

Will not. Because Soviet-made machine guns taken out of storage, this is not a "hammer" that has no analogues in the world.

Russia is the legal successor of the USSR, therefore it has the rights to all developments and has the right to sue for the illegal use of documentation and the illegal production of any types of equipment based on it.

Since 1946, 75 years have passed, Russia has no legal rights to the DShK, as well as to the AK. Anyone can freely release them, just change the name.

Once again I will repeat my own educational program. Patent law ORIGINALLY stipulates that a patent is granted for a limited period. This is no more than 20-25 years. After the expiration of this period, the invention or utility model goes into the public domain and can be freely and without payment of royalties produced by any manufacturer. Moreover, this applies equally to a Chinese company producing a useful model of authorship of a German company for which the patent has expired, and the opposite is true.
To put it simply, at present ANY inventions and utility models put into production before December 31.12.1995, XNUMX are in the public domain and can be produced by any interested manufacturer. These rules are equally valid around the world, including the states of the European Union, China (and the states of Southeast Asia too) and the states of North America.

Seriously, but your personal passport is also valid for 20-25 years and after this period you are also nobody's and your citizenship is null and void? All this was invented by oglamons who are not capable of anything, the main thing for them is to grab something for free. Is the situation the same with films and books and other inventions? And what about the laws of physics, mathematics and others, Newtons and Faraday do not mind? fellow

You are very far from the question that you undertook to comment on. And this, unfortunately, is a fact.
All this was invented by oglamons who are not capable of anything, the main thing for them is to grab something for free.

In fact, the principle that patent rights are valid for a strictly limited number of years, and then the invention / utility model goes into the public domain and can be used by any manufacturing firms for free has existed from the very beginning of the existence of the institution of patent rights as such. This is called a "patent deal" - the inventor gets a TIME monopoly (and a patent is a form of monopoly) on his invention in order to "recoup" development costs during this time and it is even possible to earn something, and the rest of humanity after this period enriched with a new achievement of technical culture.

Of course it is far, I do not argue, but I think that the attitude to something created by someone is fundamentally wrong.

What exactly do you think is wrong? Intangible things like ideas, plots or technical solutions expressed in an invention / utility model, generally "by natural law", in principle, cannot be in someone's property, because they cannot be owned in the physical sense. Moreover, for many millennia a completely natural situation for all human civilizations and cultures was just free copying of other people's inventions "as soon as we figure out how to copy". The Assyrians and Egyptians copied from each other, the Roman Empire and the medieval kingdoms of Europe copied the technical achievements of India and China. However, the European countries of that time copied each other's technical achievements with no less eagerness.
The very concept of patent rights as such appeared in the 17th century in Holland and England. Moreover, the concept of a "patent deal" (a TEMPORARY (for 15-20 years) monopoly on an invention as a means to encourage inventors) was originally incorporated into it.
