Turkey supplies the Kosovo army with a batch of Vuran 4x4 armored vehicles
NATO member states continue to arm the army of the self-proclaimed Kosovo. Another batch of armored vehicles for the Kosovar army was supplied by Turkey.
Turkish news Anadolu agency, Turkey supplied Kosovo with a batch of Vuran 4x4 armored vehicles manufactured by BMC. How many armored vehicles will be delivered is not reported, at the moment two armored vehicles have been transferred. The contract was signed by the Kosovar Ministry of Defense.
The Vuran 4X4 armored car was first shown in Turkey in 2017. Weight - 18,5 tons, capacity - 11 military personnel (crew 2 + 9 troops). A remote-controlled combat module is installed as a weapon. Armament - machine gun (7,62 mm or 12,7 mm). However, the combat module can be replaced with a turret-mounted heavy machine gun.
The machine is equipped with a front and rear view camera, an automatic fire extinguishing system, and a combat module stabilization system. Tires have inserts that allow you to move even with all the punched wheels. The cabin has air conditioning, which also has a heating function.
Earlier, the United States donated a batch of M-1117 ASV 4x4 armored vehicles to the Kosovo army. The M1117 Armored Security Vehicle is a 4x4 light armored vehicle. It was adopted by the United States in 1999. Armament - 40 mm Mk. 19, 12,7 mm M2HB machine gun and 249 mm M5,56 machine gun. It is declared as a multipurpose vehicle that solves a wide range of tasks depending on the situation.
