The Russian Ministry of Defense, commenting on the provocation of a British destroyer in the Black Sea off the coast of Crimea, called it an "epic fiasco" that will remain a "scent stain" on the reputation of the Royal British Navy for a long time. This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov.
The epic fiasco of the provocation of the British destroyer Defender in the Black Sea, which abruptly changed course from Russian territorial waters after warning shots (...) will remain a scent stain on the reputation of the Royal Navy for a long time
- quotes the Ministry of Defense as saying Konashenkov.
A spokesman for the Russian defense department called the British destroyer a "fat target" for the anti-ship complexes of the Black Sea fleet and stressed that the command of the British Navy knows this very well. Konashenkov called on London and the Pentagon "not to tempt fate" following the lead of "the Ukrainian admirals of the mosquito fleet."
According to the general, the Pentagon's attempts to pass off warning firing at the British destroyer as disinformation look convulsive amid the publication of a video recording of the actions of the Russian side. Even with evidence, Washington and London continue to argue otherwise.
Recall that the British Department of Defense continues to assert that the destroyer Defender did not enter Russian territorial waters, and there was no warning fire.
