German TV channel: Germany will break the record for defense spending next year
Germany will break all records for defense spending next year. The Bundestag Budget Committee approved the defense budget for 2022, which even exceeded the level of the current year, which was previously also called a record one.
The German TV channel N-TV reports on the decision of the German parliament.
It is noted that next year the amount of Germany's military spending will be approximately 50 billion euros. The Bundestag has approved about 30 high-budget joint programs for the development of advanced weapons systems with the participation of other NATO countries.
For such "generosity" the parliament was criticized, because after the autumn elections the German government will start working in a different composition, having received such a "weighty legacy" from its predecessors.
Among the approved defense projects, it is worth noting the FCAS air combat system, which will replace the European Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft. The main feature of the new system is that the fighter will operate in conjunction with a whole flock drones varied purpose. In addition to German companies, French and Spanish manufacturers are also expected to participate in this project.
Earlier, the Bundestag deputy from the Left faction Sevim Dagdelen, commenting in his article published by the German newspaper ND on Berlin's plans to increase defense spending, said that this indicates the preparation of Germany for war with Russia.
